Topic: Nintendo life cant take criticism.

Why do you think it is that this website doesn't allow/like criticism of Nintendo?

I have been silenced at every opportunity on this website, and for what? Nintendo doesn't care about you! So why do you fanboy out in Nintendos honor?

You should have no problems with anyone talking about:

Nintendo's terrible online service.
Nintendo's fondness for MOBILE games, over real console games.
Nintendo releasing ports like they are new games and charging full price for them.

And the way Nintendo have fallen into the pattern of the WII U with letting the console stagnant with a lack of triple-A games with no real plan in motion to give switch owners these games in the near future.

I sense a change everywhere, people who supported the switch like a total fanboy are now seeing the light! They still won't admit that this is what happened to the Wii U all over again, but it's still nice to see the fanboys now talking about the issues.

So again i ask, Why is this site different? This site reminds me of the game "We happy few" it feels like everyone is taking some sort of Nintendo pill that makes them love Nintendo no matter what, and attack anyone who critics their beloved. It's gross.

Learn to accept diversity of opinion! You will benefit from it in your lives, Rather than considering me a troll, and trying to pick apart my words with strawman arguments, be honest with yourself and take off the rose-tinted Nintendo specs.

Please, before you all contribute to the demise of this console through giving Nintendo a free pass to walk all over you time and time again.

I know the same person is going to attack me and then lock this thread, I hope that makes you feel amazing not giving me a right to reply. I see that as 100 percent proof that the Switch is in massive trouble.

I'm impressed that it hurts you enough to keep coming back. Keep fighting your fight. I think you're actually starting to fill me with doubt and insecurity about my gaming habits now.

Does anybody want a well used Switch? No payment required, it's ruining my life so you'll be doing me a favour.

Also paying to access the online features is a scummy pratice. There's your negative thing.

You know, I love Nintendo but I critize their bad sides. I'm not what you describe.

That is totally true ! But hey, We all love Nintendo at the end, even if it's difficult for the majority here, to understand that criticisms are good... Nintendo clearly failed this year and I have no problem to say it...

One thing i want to make clear is that i own a Switch! I like the switch. I love being able to game on the go. I just see these issues and want to vent about them, Why should i not be allowed to just because its perceived as negative and trolling? When im being 100 percent honest.

I also have some Minor critiques about Switch.
1. Still NO White color for their machine. I mean, Come On! 3DS is More Colorful than Switch.
2. Game box design. When you look at the sideway, it looked Boring with just Red Trim & some generic Fonts. Compare with with 3DS & Wii U game boxes.
3. Switch U/I is still so....Basic. Too Empty, unlike 3DS / Wii U.

You are not the only one who have critiques about Switch, so communicate your critiques in good way.

My philosophy is: "Why harp on the negatives??" Yes, there are issues with the Switch and some of Nintendo's policies , but the good games coming is what matters most. To comment on one of your complaints,

That's not even true, lol. They release regular console games way more than their mobile titles, c'mon.

Lastly, there are a lot of negative people here and on the internet in general who blow things WAAAAAY out of proportion or have a negative agenda, so you can't blame people for being defensive. For example, you got people whining about ports on Switch, but call a game being ported to PS4 a smart move. Or you have people complaining about "software droughts" but they ignore like 90% of the games coming to Switch and only acknowledge the really big games. That kind of behavior just reeks of a negative agenda and at that point, I just start tuning any negativity out.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and the OP’s is no less valid than anyone else’s here.

I think the term we need to remember is healthy debate. Of course, this site, like others, is related to a particular brand and company and it doesn't make sense for them to be overly negative about it. However, I've always seen room for healthy debate about issues on NL.

I agree, in principle on some of the points raised - I do think that this year on the Switch has been a bit lacklustre for more casual gamers who want the big AAA experiences or for those gamers with multiple platform. I also think that there could be more curation on the E-Shop. However, if anyone goes into a discussion, particularly about a brand that people do love (and for good reason because whatever faults they have, Nintendo do some really great things), saying everthing is rubbish, it's going to fail, it's another Wii U then people go on the defensive. These are just opinions.

Don't forget, the whole, Switch is going to fail conversation before the console came out - everyone had an opinion and to be honest, I was one of the people that thought it might and was surprised at how well the console did out of the gate. I remember reams of comments on boards accusing people of defending Nintendo over poor hardware and those same complainers went out and bought a Switch day one.

Anyway, my rambly point is that a discussion is good but over the top statements about things that people are passionate about is just going to rub people up the wrong way. Especially on a site that has built itself a community on a shared love.

Also, remember that sites like these are not reflective of the wider populace and game playing public. We are a small echo chamber of hobbyists really compared to the wider world.

This is a poor troll post and little more. Someone trying to upset defensive fanboys and little else.

This site doesn't silence criticism of Nintendo in the slightest. In fact, I've seen whole articles and videos by this site bashing on things Nintendo does - see any post about a stability update or NSO. They also don't remove posts criticizing the website either, I know because I've left some scathing comments myself that have gone untouched.

If your comments are getting removed, my money would be on you using vulgarity. Something which violates their community rules and they are pretty consistent about enforcing.

I think it all depends on how you formulate your arguments.

There's a difference between saying "I do not like how Nintendo has handled their online" and, for example, "Nintendo Switch Online is terrible, don't try to argue against me using this and that argument. I feel sorry for anyone who likes it" ...

This is the third topic this OP has made with similar contents/complaints of 'censorship'. And there's no comments in articles, just these topics. Know before you feed, and don't pet the alligators.

Without sounding like a fan boy I think you're hugely exagerratting. The site does not silence those who wish to voice their displeasure, it will however silence those who use profanity. The part about Nintendo releasing more mobile games than console games is just not true.

As for the lack of big games from Nintendo this year,that can't be disputed, it's true. They front loaded the launch and mostly relied on ports, 3rd party and indies to carry it through the 2nd year. I've voiced my opinion on that here many times and guess what, I wasn't silenced. Next year though seems to be making up for 2018. We have Daemon X Machina, Yoshi, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Pokémon, Bayonetta 3 (probably) Metroid Prime 4 (possibly). That's just what we know about. It's nothing like the Wii U!

@stockholmSyndrom Once I had reported and ignored the Nintendo fanboy trolls that are aggressive towards people not blindly worshipping Nintendo I have to admit that they were only a small percentage of NL users. At the end of the day most people are more or less sensible and respectful with each others. The majority of users here are quite friendly and helpful and tons of them criticise Nintendo, myself included. I have some real friends with a Switch and they admit they are not using it as much now because of the lack of appealing new games (that are not on other consoles).

I don't know, I've always felt NintendoLife is a very reasonable, open place, accepting of all types of fans, encouraging healthy debate and accepting all sides of any argument. I've been on this site for like 8 years and (I guess with that time coinciding with the Wii and Wii U eras...) have often been very critical of Nintendo, but NintendoLife has never tried to silence me (even when I probably deserved it, hehe...)

You only create threads to complain about how you're silenced and how the site is unfair. (Which is false, because we have been very tolerant of your actual posts and opinions).

This is the third time you create a thread about this.

I could not care less about your opinions or ideas about Nintendo or the Switch, but I do care about you disrupting the community and littering the forums with useless threads.

If you do it again I will ban you.
