today i remember some non white characters in F-Zero Games ("human")
a game from Nintendo, the same that make Mario Kart (i know you know guys) with "only white humans"
please, show this to the people that says that Nintendo only create white human characters.
Alexander O'Neil (F-Zero Maximum Velocity)
Antonio Guster
Kate Alen
Samurai Goroh
Baba
Michael Chain
Nichi ( Native American)
Nintendo has a racist problem? That's news to me. Also, this thread is probably gonna get locked.
that is why i use the quotes (" ")
is showing that they have Black, Asian and other color characters.
they don't do that in the post that they create referring to the blog that make the "news". they let us comment, so i assume that i can make a topic with this.
I kinda get it even if its TERRIBLY misguided but why would it matter for Mario Kart? Characters basically only exist in Mario Kart if they've appeared elsewhere? I at least kinda understand if they want a black character in a Mario title (though good luck expecting him to be given any personality) but Mario Kart makes no sense in any way.

Well i see that he wand in Mario Kart, but i think that he is more attacking Nintendo as a hole (don't read that fast )
sorry, i just make a try, i don't speak English.
You can race as your Mii. You can make your Mii any ethnicity. Mario doesn't have black people...or Mexicans...Or Asians...Or Indians...Or--Do you see what I'm getting at here?
I can empathize more with the Tomodachi Life thing because that's how people want to live their lives. Whatever. Fine. Being a game it will have limits no matter what, but fine. I can roll with that.
The Mario universe just plonking in a different ethnic person in a land of mushrooms, walking poo (I dunno what Goombas are), turtles that throw hammers at you, dragons, and men who sit on clouds with video cameras just for the sake of having ethnic diversity is a pretty ridiculous stretch.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

How are people of different racial backgrounds somehow more unrealistic than all of those?
I think it's stupid to accuse Nintendo of racism on this one, although I would like to see more diversity in their titles, but claiming that it would somehow be unrealistic to have an Indian girl or black guy in a world inhabited by sentient turtles and dinosaur-riding plumbers with fire powers is a bit absurd.

Wave Race includes Japanese charecters, so does 1080 snowboarding. 1080 also has a black guy too.
There's two more examples of Nintendo games that feature non white charecters.
I just remembered, what about Punchout, the original NES game featured Mike Tyson amongst it's mix of charecters. Last time I checked Punchout featured charecters from other races too.
There are dark-skinned characters in Zelda and F-Zero, and dark-skinned characters have been added to Pokemon recently as well as in Fire Emblem. I'm sure you can find more but those are just off the top of my head. Honestly, why does Mario Kart (or, really, Mario in general) get a free pass? (Granted, all of those examples have a relatively realistic fantasy world with more humanoid people, but even still)
I'm not going to call them racist, but would it really be that hard for Nintendo to create a new Mario character with dark skin? Yes, the Mario universe has cartoon logic along with strange creatures and races in it, but Mario, Luigi, Peach, Rosalina, etc. are all obviously white. And no, don't say that Mario and Luigi are Italian and not white, because Italy is a nation, not a race. These characters are still Caucasian, even if all Italians aren't. Even though I don't care for characters getting shoehorned in with little purpose, I'm sure if Nintendo wanted to they could do it without the character being out-of-place.

I think you slightly missed the point. He was essentially pointing out that the cast is already pretty diverse, considering. There are things far more imaginative running around than a person with slightly different skin color than everybody else. The point he was really making was that dropping in a character from some different country than our own in a world that doesn't even necessarily exist on the same plane as our own seems like a rather pointless step.
I get wanting some ethnic diversity, but for all we can tell, the Mushroom Kingdom doesn't have any Asians because Asians don't exist within the same world. Obviously, Nintendo could just insert one, but for what actual purpose? What's the point? To get people to stop calling Nintendo racist? That's not gonna happen, anyways. If they add in a character of some other ethnicity, that's all fine and dandy. I'm just saying that it's honestly more racist to say that there has to be a minority character than saying that there doesn't have to be one.
