Topic: New Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon in production

Gotta Go Fast. Honestly I'd just take the archie comics and make shows based off of that since they seem to have nice mixture of humor and Action.

Technically, the Archie comics are based on the good Sonic cartoon. Though I guess that just means it really is a good fit for an adaption...

Erm.... Yay? Didn't enjoy Sonic X much, and I've barely seen the older toons. Just as long it's not like that God awful Pac Man show. Makes meh cringe.
Knuckles looks like he fused with Storm or something. Sonic supposedly has a vest now? Tails and Amy are fine tho. Too bad it will come a year from now.

Knuckles' silhouette leads me to believe that they're going for more "creative" portrayals. Oh well, can't get worse than Sonic Undergrou- /me gets wonder punched in the face

After that abomination that was the 4Kids Sonic show, I do not want to see anymore Sonic on TV lol

That's a little different. I think Robots seem to always look better in CGI than anything that's supposed to look alive. Uncanny valley and all that.

@Those_worried_about_cg_approach So I'm guessing that going the CG route is a bad idea. Even though the guys from Sonic Team make those gorgeous looking CG cutscenes check out '06, Unleashed, Sonic riders and riders ZG. (well unless it's being handled by a different CG animation team.)

That's all but confirmed, dude. Besides, there's a difference between making a half-hours worth of cutscenes in a game over the course of about 6 months, and doing a season's worth of half-hour episodes in about a season. Even if it was the same animators, they just don't have the luxury of time the way they do with a game to be able to perfect everything and make it look actually good. It's not the CGI itself perse, it's the low-budget CGI we're suscepted to on TV that's the problem.

watch it be like pokemon and does not follow a story line at all.....why are all video game tv shows bad(kirby right back at ya was my show though)

You do realize anime encompasses a multitude of animation styles, right?

I'm not a huge fan of Tails and Sonic X set the bar so low for quality that it would literally impress me if this new Sonic show managed to be worse than Sonic X. In my opinion... Sonic X was unbearable. I've given it many chances and it has failed on each time.

Ya know, considering how they've been handling the CG for the last few years, this can definitely work, I say go for it.
