Last week I mentioned I was helping a friend with one of his pony stories. Well, the story is done and up for everypony to see. Tonight on the ==Fic of The Week:== 148° by Dancewithknives
[On Fimfiction Adventure Complete Everyone]
It's the night after the hottest, world record setting day in Coffin Valley. A band of colt scouts gather around a campfire, they will hear the legend of something that happened seventy years ago, in a day just as hot.
This is a cool story within a story, where, both, the unreliable story teller and the young eager listeners really bring life to the legend been told. I was also really surprised by a couple of flashbacks that give information without being intruding, and the ending was specially pleasing to me.
At first this story may seem very disconnected from the show, just some OCs listening to a Wild West style story that you may think would fit better in an original story with humans. However if you give it a chance you will see that things are not as it seems.
It has references to other of the author's stories, but it's a self contained story that I think anyone can enjoy.

Hi everyone! Just popping in to share some news. I tried drawing Spike yesterday and he came out really good to my great surprise! Here are some practice pictures done (after the first few which I'm not showing cause I made heavy use of references in those and I feel like it's not much of an accomplishment to show copied work) as I slowly weened off of using references:
And here is a back view I made entirely 100% myself, reference-free! And it was my first time drawing a back view, no less!
It may not be a huge deal to you guys but to me it's huge because I couldn't even draw a pony before. I've wanted to make a Tumblr blog for Spike since the very beginning but he was too hard for me to draw at the time. Now it's a possibility!
@Buob OMG you're alive! Nice to see you're doing good! Yeah, I'm not as hyped about ponies as I used to be either, so I just drop in and check up on the thread every so often. Nonetheless, glad to see you're still around.

I spent a whole hour on just that, no lie. It was worth it though, cause now I have a better grasp on how Rarity's mane curls work, and I'm more confident in my ability to draw her. I even managed to get pretty accurate coat colors!
Edit: it's an hour later and nobody posted yet, so instead of triple posting I'll edit in this picture I just made.
Don't ask me what Spike is begging Rarity for. I just wanted to practice drawing clasped claws
@BlueAce127 I use Colors 3D to draw. It's not very user-friendly at all as far as keeping accurate, consistant colors so I have to guess everyone's color palette by eye, (which even then changes slightly when uploaded) and the Colors 3D four picture a day limit is crippling, buuuuut I don't have a computer so this is my only option.

@TeeJay You can buy the art academy app for the wiiu if you have one, it's actually really awesome and it's a good place to practice on. I been using it a lot.But for some reason i haven't drawn anything pony related, weird i should change that right away.
