What musical genre do you associate with each decade? Twenties- jazz (it was the jazz age, after all) Thirties- pop (the rise of crooners) Forties- jazz (the rise of swing) Fifties- rock (of course) Sixties- R&B (if you take the whole decade into consideration) Seventies- rock (pop was dead and R&B was replaced by disco and funk) Eighties- pop (the MTV era) Nineties- R&B (if you look at the All That musical guests, you'll notice that almost all of them are R&B artists) Zeros- rock (the indie generation)
