Did you know that the original Metroid contains hidden zones, that were never documented in any game guide or gaming publication? In fact it contains more "unofficial areas" than any other NES video game. As much as 35% of the playing field in Metroid may be undocumented. The only way to access these hidden zones is to activate a "wall door" glitch in the game.

My Metroid 25th started a little earlier this year. I played through Metroid twice already in the last week (suited and suitless runs) and now I'm playing a few fan-made things before going into Zero Mission, II, Super, and Fusion runs. I'd play the Prime series and Other M but I'm out a device to play them at the moment. D:
And listening to Metroid Metal a lot.

You know, I was just thinking last night that I wished Nintendo would do something for Metroid's 25th. Yes, it's not the cash cow Zelda and Mario are but the people who love it REALLY love it, myself included. Original Metroid as a 3D classic, anyone?
I freaking love Super Metroid. The end of that game was so unbelievably epic. <3

Nah. I've played Zero Mission almost to the end, but the original Metroid is a bit too dated for me. If they remade it as a 3D classic and polished it up a bit, though, I'd be all over it.

is it the 25th anniversary? wow. it just so happens that ive been trying to play through every metroid game in story order (apart from prime pinball). its freakin awesome how things have changed
Yes please~ I really hope they do a "Month of Metroid" like they did when MP3 came out. Metroid 3D one week, Metroid II for VC the next week, and then ... can I get a Super Metroid 3D pleeeeeeeeeeeeease. And you can throw Fusion and Zero Mission on VC too.
... and make Metroid Prime 3D or something.

See I favor the original style of gameplay a lot more than the 3D installments. It just doesn't feel the same for me. I guess I'm old school, but that's just me. lol

Sadly I get the feeling that Nintendo is gonna do much, if anything, for Metroid's 25th due to all the whining about Other M. It kinda wouldn't surprise me if it became a "long lost franchise" for a long, long time a la Kid Icarus.
I'm a big Metroid lover and I've played every game in the series. Super Metroid is my definite favorite followed up by Prime. Prime 3 is a really good game too, though. Hell, all of the games are good!
