My God, how I hate this and all it's kin. For one, it's pretentious arty "Here's a story only you have to figure out what the story is since it's not a story but just words thrown together to sound deep" style of storytelling pisses me off to no end. It's like you can tell the guy who made Braid is a hipster who wears a Che t-shirt while drinking his Starbucks during his shopping for Doc Martins.

Then we get to the actual gameplay that forces you to backtrack constantly, using new powers that you somehow gain as you play that never give you any hint that you have at your disposal. It's almost like the developer wanted to make his version of Watchmen in videogame form in that it's a deconstruction of Mario only without the genius of Alan Moore or talent at all.

My God this horrible game that somehow became a critical darling is pathetic if you look at it from any standpoint other than "It's indie so it's good". Boring gameplay, a horrid "story", no challenge other than it's fake challenge of having to backtrack with new abilities and to top it all off the price is way too much for what you get. There are free remixes of Duck Hunt that have more depth than this game.

In closing, I feel that this game is an argument for Socialism. It's a me too game without any real innovation (which Socialism instills in it's non-existant private sector) that is called great without any real examples of why it is great other than the indie hipsters telling us it is, if it wasn't for the big guys (reviewers in this instance, government leaders in theory) telling us it's what we need then nobody would have it, let alone tell us it's the greatest game of the last two decades. It has no imagination being nothing more than Mario with a time reverseing gimmick and no real enemies to face, which shows us how in a land with Socialism there is no need to innovate, that we can be stagnant as a whole and everything will work out fine in the end, however in the real world without innovation we wouldn't have the ability to make or play game like Braid. Well, maybe there is a good reason for Socialism afterall.

Dude...Its just a game!, don't like it,don't play it .Your rant did make me LMAO though ..so thanks.

What's this bit for again?

@RandomWiiPlayer: You must not have played the Bowser stages.

@LuWiiGi: Super Mario Galaxy 2 worst game ever!? Have you ever played Superman 64?

@Angaran: Why you little....... Let's agree to disagree, okay?

Don't hate me for saying this, but I disliked Sonic Unleashed. The Warehog stages dragged on for long. Frankly, I've played more entertaining and faster beat-'em-ups (and this is Sonic, for crying out loud). Also, I hate it how Chip butts in all the time. At least it doesn't have any morbidly-obese felines or whiny, time-traveling hedgehogs.

I'm back (for the moment)!

@LuWiiGi - to each his own, but, out of curiosity, why do you dislike Super Mario Galaxy 2 so much? What about it turned you off? You cannot just say you disliked it without giving us a reason as to why you didn't like it. Everyone has (a) reason(s) for (dis)liking something, and you [LuWiiGi], I'm certain, have (a) reason(s) as to why you dislike Super Mario Galaxy 2.
@Angaran - why do you dislike the first Super Mario Galaxy? Is there a reason you think it stinks?

Completely forgot about those. I played one or two, can't remember. Are there even two? Those were great, but not enough to make me finish the game.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

There were three Bowser stages. In my opinion, those were the best parts of the game. Those, and Peach's shower scenes.

Wait, weren't those in the super-secret Eighteen Plus Galaxy? The one you could only reach with Parental Controls set to absolute maximum? The one that was removed before launch outside Japan?

Uhhhh, maybe? I was refering to the playable Peach stages in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. You could access a bathroom to the left of Peach's captivity room and take a shower. It doesn't have any nudity in it, though. Sadly.

Here's my rule to not liking games: you should at least Beat it before you judge it.
That said, Rugrats: Castle Capers sucked on so many accounts.

Why bother beating it though when a game is excruciatingly painful to play through anyway? I don't know about you, but I tend not to keep playing, when I am not enjoying myself. What the hell is the point?

Agreed, though there is a limit. You'd be surprised how many games get better as they go. In fact, some games purposely suck at the beginning just to make the rest seem that much better. Personally, I just go until I reach my breaking point, which differs by the hour.

I so wanted to play Spray until I saw the reviews. Normally I prefer to go with my own gut, but I'm glad I listened to someone else's advice that time around.
