Topic: Have games ever influenced your iPod?

I've been listening to Bartholomew by The Silent Comedy for some time since I heard it in the trailer for Dark Souls. I was wondering if anyone else has had a time where a game or trailer introduced you to some good music. (I didn't see a link to a discussion like this but if there is one, I'd like a link to it lol)

98% of the music in my iPod are original sound tracks and various remixes, so I'd say yes. All the time.

i dont have an ipod, but the music i listen to on spotify is very much influenced by video games. portal 2 for example got me interested in techno.

P.S. for anybody that hasnt tried spotify, its great just to listen to music while you hang out, or listen to a song before you buy it

Not really. About the only thing related to video games on my iPod is "Exile Vilify" by The National from Portal 2, but I would've gotten it anyway even without the connection to Portal 2.

Sort of. I mean, less than 10% of my iTunes music library is related to gaming, but I listen to that less-than-10% a fair bit. I've got the Donkey Kong Country remix album from OC ReMix, the Xenoblade Chronicles soundtrack and the Ocarina of Time 3D soundtrack, though granted the last two are recent additions. Plus I've got Utada Hikaru's "Passion" from Kingdom Hearts II and Vanessa Carlton's "Dark Carnival" from Spy Hunter 2, despite never having played either game.

Got a few more video game soundtrack CDs in my collection as well but I don't have them on my iPod.

I guess Agressive Inline showed me a few cool songs to put on my iPod back when it was released but since then there hasn't really been any games except for the occasional Tony Hawk game to show me some good, new music, lol.

The Assassins Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer commercial prompted me to purchase "We Want War" by These New Puritans. Other than that, not really.
