Got some snow last night. Nieces are coming up to the house tomorrow. Meaning no gaming for me as I will probably have to help them build a snowman or something. Maybe I will just put Mario Kart in and let them play that. @Stevie Awesome igloo.
we had about 25 in here and it extended our winter break by 3 days! and we're supposed to get about 2 more tomorrow so you know what f*** you global warming!!!!!!!!!!

Fox, not to get into it too deeply, but denying an argument exists does not in fact cause it to not exist. There are many qualified people who would disagree with you, and that right there is proof of an argument.
I saw an ad for the NY Times on TV recently, where one of the people says something like "the best reporters work for the NY Times, and [pause...] there's no debating that." What a pompous comment. The moment someone says otherwise, BAM!, debate.
Anyway, regarding climate change in general, sure, it will probably continue to get colder and warmer just as it has since long before life dragged itself from the primordial soup. I don't think there's a thing we have done or can do to meaningfully alter that. But I'm still all for consuming less. Efficiency and cleanliness are a good thing.
Yeah I agree with that. I don't buy that we will destroy the Earth by using our cars too much and leaving the odd light on. I reckon global warming is a natural phenomenon - climate has always been constantly changing on the planet. However I do believe we should recycle and use less energy simply to make the world a nicer place to live, protect the animals and keep the air clean.
I remain sceptical over the reported affects humans have on climate change, however I thought I'd point out that cold weather is used to prove Global warming exists as much as it is used to discredit it. They say that the warmer weather affect air currents, pressure systems, the gulf streams El Nino and La Nina, etc etc and this leads to extreme cold weather in winter along with extreme heat in the summer. I believe the theory but not the that its caused by human activity, rather just a natural occurrence.
I'm expecting it tommorow or later tonight, school has already been canceled for tomorrow (Friday) in my county, which is a first for me! When/if it snows, It'll be my third time seeing snow IRL in my life-!! (I'm 13)

@V I probably should have stated that better. It's just one of those things that happens when you type while being distracted, I guess. This is a fun thread and I certainly don't want to drag everyone into an argument.

Getting snow right now. I'd say another inch or two by tommorow. We had a big one on the morning of 2010 through the 4th. We got a good 7-9 inches there, then lake effect snows the rest of the week. I live in Western NY.

Well, it's snowing here again in the state of Kentucky. I have around 3 to 4 inches in the hospital parking lot and I don't get off for about 3.5 more hours. I dread going home.
we've had snow (some still on the ground). Not sure the last time. might had a tiny bit recently. Right now it's colder than he double toothpicks! The hurting kind of cold (at least it was several hours ago). I thought someone mentioned it was going to be somewhere around 10 or so below. Unless I'm wrong. It sure as heck felt about that way earler when we were outside!

I've driven thru Kentucky many times, ya'll drive too fast when the roads are clear... be careful, seems a few inches of snow down there causes a bit of chaos on the roads.
"Put. That. Coffee. Down. Coffee's for closers only."

Trust me, I know what you mean. Half the people on the roads around here shouldn't be. I'm a very careful driver
Global warming (actually, the Earth is cooling right now) is a natural occurance, and if we were to stop outputting CO2 altogether we could not stop it. Unless politicians can find out ways to regulate the heat of the sun and the output of volcanic activity, theres nothing we can do. I mean, the Earth went into and came out of Ice Ages before factories and cars ever existed.

lol, I meant average global temperatures. Over the last decade they stopped increasing and now they are actually starting to decline. Earth is entering a cooling phase.
