During my family's weekend trip, I binged through all of the story mode for Super Mario Maker 2. It was... an ordeal, that's for sure. After the first 30-ish stages, I really had to use Luigi's power-ups a decent amount, and even have Luigi clear some levels for me just so I could move on (a lack of patience on my part). The "no jumping" levels, as well as a few other gimmicky levels in particular, while impressive, were kind of annoying. Overall, while it was a good time, I didn't like it as much as Mario Odyssey or Mario Wonder, and I probably won't ever replay it since I can just play Course World and make levels on one profile instead of needing to make another for that, and you can't restart story mode to my memory. I did unlock the super hammer and the superball flower, but I didn't bother with about 50 of the courses and stopped playing it right after the credits rolled. Honestly, because of how much of a pain it was, it is my least favorite part of Super Mario Maker 2. I'd give it an 8/10 since I still had fun with it. The whole game all together is still a solid 10/10 though.
My top 5 favorite games:

@ShieldHero The story mode really isn't supposed to compare to a full game; it's just a fun/silly add-on to practice with some of the new features. I beat all the levels early on (I think there are 120 but most are short) but I agree some of the gimmick levels are a bit annoying. However that was a few hours... compared to several hundred hours playing player made levels 😆
I do love that it centered around Toadette though.
I'm curious what they'll do story mode wise for smm3.
Finished Cat Quest 2 yesterday! It's very solid, cozy ARPG type of game. I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying just super light story about things, and then cat/dog puns everywhere. Very fun.
Donkey Kong Bananza. At least the "main" campaign. A really fun, unique experience and that Planet Core area goes on forever! I think I'm going to stop at this point, though. I don't know what it is, but I'm not feeling going back to each layer(s) and collecting everything. It's just so much and it feels more like a chore than something fun. I'm not really feeling doing the post game challenges to have the "final" ending either. Just not feeling it. I think at over 650 banana gems is plenty to collect. I really want to get back on the backlog and with my limited gaming time I see months of time wasted just doing a collect-a-thon.
This fire is burning and it's out of control. It's not a problem you can stop it's Rock and Roll!!!
Finished Cat Quest 3 yesterday! and now I have finished all three games which are really fantastic CQ3 I think is far shorter than the other 2 especially if you don't do the mew game stuff for all of them, but I really like CQ3's pacing and story. Far tighter and more fun to do.
After my maybe 30th attempt across a year, I finally beat the boo cycling rotating stick minigame in Mario Party 1, which meant I then completed the single player "what if Mario Party minigames were like levels in Mario World" mode in Mario Party 1.
I dunno if this even counts, but I dunno if I'll ever do...whatever one needs to do to get to the credits of Mario Party 1, I did this unnecessary thing no one needs to go back, another childhood game finally beaten.
Super Mario World 2: Yoshis Island. To be honest, I didn't like it much. The first few Worlds were fun enough, but about halfway through, I remembered why I've dropped this game countless times. Its just not as fun as any other yoshi outings. Its far too slow, slippery, and unforgiving in alot of areas later in the game. There's also way too many maze like levels that carry on too long. Of all the snes "classics", this might be my least favorite.
Just wrapped up with the Sonic Racing Crossworlds playtest. I got to say, it was a pretty good, fun time, and solid on Switch. Probably will pick this game up at some point.

Just done with Batman Arkham Asylum (on PC!) Game's surprisingly not bad, even if the Croc's Lair is just the worst. Overall pretty fun. Can't wait to jump into Arkham City

I remember getting a bit frustrated with Croc's Lair and sticking on some background music through the Steam web browser to make it more enjoyable, and honestly, escaping Croc to the sound of the remixed version of Out of Touch by Hall and Oates was probably my favourite part of the game
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Dogorilla Ahh, having another music will help, truly. I just got stuck a bit at the end, and I dislike how I alreadly walked slow and he would still appear randomly haha. Overall still fun game, 4 out of 7.
