Games I can't get into because they are terrible games yet people still swear by them for some reason:
Stop acting like your opinion is fact. "Terrible" is 2/10 range. Some of those games you mentioned can be considered overrated, but NOWHERE near "terrible" status. Oh yeah, I agree SMG is a terrible game. Terrible level design, terrible controls, terrible graphics, terrible story, terrible gameplay, and terrible everything. /sarcasm
Smash Mains:
N64: Captain Falcon
Melee: Mario
Brawl: Sonic
Project M: Link
Smash 3DS: Captain Falcon
Smash Wii U: Ganondorf

Saying a game is "terrible" is never a fact. Judging the quality of a game is still ultimately something that is subjective.
Even something like a glitch or a broken control scheme aren't necessarily terrible. Goat Simulator has glitches, and people love it for that. Just Dance doesn't work half the time, but it's completely irrelevant, because having accurate controls isn't important in that game.
The facts associated with a game are: The platforms it's released on, the developer, the publisher, the main character's names, and the likes.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
Metroid II Return of Samus. I got lost after killing about the first 6-7 metriod and the place just bores me also the map is freakin' unhelpful! I regret buying it but the music is pretty good.

Whether something works properly is objective. When there is an alternative that does work properly e.g Dance Central then it makes anything that doesn't worthless like Just Dance.

I should also add that whether controls are broken or not is also something that can be subjective as well. Something like Kinect is heavily reliant on environmental factors for example, and with the Wii, different people move their bodies in different ways, and have different standards for lag and reliability. Even something like button controls that must be held for a certain period of time to get a response could be construed differently between different people.

looks glibly over the list
While I can't agree wholeheartedly with a number of these selections the reasons for their inclusion are of interest. Rather than me feeling in any way offended, because let's face it: there are tons of games we have in common that are not on that list.
Western RPGs. I dunno why. I've tried a few of them and sometimes it's the (too) open world, sometimes it's the look, sometimes the battle system or whatever. I would love to play them, really, there are so many interesting WRPGs out there, but for the life of me I just cannot like them. Also most FPSs.

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D. I loved it for a few hours but then it got real repetitive.
I really wanted to like it, too. Since I liked some of the older 2D Zelda games.
Say what now?

I'm not really active here anymore. So it goes.
Pokemon X & Y. I really love the franchise, but something about X & Y (and the constant bombardment of Megas during online matches) really just put me off. The games aren't bad, I just didn't find them as immersive as previous entries.
All of them, I just can't seem to squeeze into them. I've lost count of how many carts and discs I've broken trying to get into them.
Best response, right there.
As for myself, Sonic always felt a bit weird for me, still not sure what it is though.
I also tried a few times to like Chrono Trigger, but I couldn't get into the story or combat at all. Ended up selling it, so hopefully its new owner is liking it.

Mine are Metal Gear Solid and God of War. The former, I'm just not a huge fan of both heavily cinematic games and stealth games, the latter because they are legitimately awful games and their praise baffles me.
Metal gear solid. I've tried and I own a number of the games... I just can't be bothered to care.

I never got into Metroid...I tried, but never could really get into it. I tried some of the first Fire Emblem game, but never bothered to finish it, though I might try out the later games and see if I like it. Battle Axe was another one. I just didn't see how it got so popular. Wii Sports was another one (I played Wii Fit more than that game.Seriously. WHY IS THAT GAME SO POPULAR!?I mean, it's nice that anyone can play it, but it's not the best thing since french toast!).
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - The presentation in this game ultimately killed off most of my desire to return to it. In the original, the galaxies are set up on orbit paths in a celestial system. In Galaxy 2, they're thrown on a bland yellow connect the dots on a randomly chosen cosmic looking background. Also, I didn't really care for the game's checkpoint system. Throwing in the flags from the New series felt out of place here. It almost feels as if the game wasn't sure of itself, stuck on Galaxy but seemingly laying down foundation for Super Mario 3D Land. The nix of most story aspects, when the original had the touching Rosalina storybook standing out, wasn't a trait of Super Mario Galaxy 2 I appreciated.
Super Mario 3D World - As of this release, I'm not too sure if I can trust Nintendo's console 3D Mario offerings. The issue I have with Super Mario 3D World is again its inept attention to presentation. The whole design of the game's worlds are random levels set on random slabs with random backgrounds. There's hardly a cohesive aspect to find with the game's presentation besides the fact that it's consistently random. I like Super Mario 3D Land much more just for the fact that they didn't waste effort to completely butcher the game's presentation. Then there's the feeling that the game is more designed for multiplayer than for single player experience, the latter as far as co-op is concerned is an aspect that hardly ends up carrying a game for me. I have yet to give 3D World its second chance as I've done with Galaxy 2, so my opinion may turn around.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - I might have played TTYD when I was too young, because before the end of Chapter 2 I had already gotten a guide to help me progress through the game. More than a decade later, I haven't done much with the game beyond that initial completion with a guide. There are aspects of the game I do like, mainly its settings, story and bosses, but other than that it falls very flat for me. My concern regarding replaying the game now is that my previously slow experience making my way through the game's huge number of puzzles may repeat itself too much to really enjoy the game. I'm at a point where longer games, unless they're really solid, won't do a thing for me given the limited free time I now have working full time.
Pushmo - I'll just say to begin with that it sucks that the game's puzzles weren't all murals. Whenever Pushmo moved out of the murals, the game drained me more as my brain wasn't working just to a solution but also pass the presentation slide. In non-mural sections, Pushmo became a chore. In more advanced difficulties, it became too much for me and I ended up being on/off with the game a lot. Whenever I started up Pushmo at that point, I generally was able to beat the puzzle that had stumped me months before and then go on to complete like the next two. After that, I immediately hit another wall. I'm not overly fond of an experience that brings me up then quickly makes me feel completely dumb. I don't have the desire to beat the game.
