Topic: Games that you just keep on buying

With the announcement of Ocarina of Time on the 3DS, I stopped to ponder how many times I will actually buy a game I already own. Many of you can probably agree that you already own (or have owned) Ocarina of Time at one point or another, whether it was on the N64, the Gamecube, or the Virtual Console, and now you're likely hyped to buy it again on the 3DS. Final Fantasy Tactics and Secret of Mana are two of my most favorite games, and with the announcement that they're coming soon to the iPhone, I'm about to buy them all over again.

I decided to browse through my collection to see what I have, and what other systems I've purchased it on, and here's what I've come up with:

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64, Gamecube, VC (and 3DS in the near future)
Mega Man II: NES, VC, iPhone
Puzzle Quest: DS, Wii, iPhone
Peggle: PC, iPhone
Super Mario 64: DS, VC
Sonic II: Genesis, VC
Super Mario Bros 2: NES, VC, GBA
Secret of Mana: SNES, VC (and iPhone in the near future)
Final Fantasy Tactics: PSOne (and iPhone in the near future)
Other NES and SNES games that I no longer have cartridges for, but purchased on the VC.

What games have you bought more than once, or would happily buy again on a different platform?

The only games I can think of that I bought more then once were the original Sonic games.
I own Sonic Mega Collection for the 'cube and Sonic's Genesis Collection for the PS3, which has all the games included in the Mega Collection, sans the lock-on.

.... or something like that.

For me probably just the N64 Zelda games. I bought them a couple of times (N64, GameCube collection disc, now Wii) and always sold them off later. At the moment I only own Majora's Mask on Virtual Console... so if I get a 3DS it's possible I'd rebuy Ocarina of Time there.

Oh, and Tetris too. I've owned that game on: NES, Game Boy, N64, and now WiiWare.

I'm not a fan of re-hashed games. I have bought a few, but usually because I got rid of a system long ago. For example, I owned FFII and FFIII, as well as Chrono Trigger on the SNES, and jumped at the chance to pick up FFIV/Chrono Trigger and FFV/FFVI on the PS1 (despite their poor translation, I still play them today). However, I didn't buy their 138 re-hashes on the handhelds.

Super Mario Bros. 3 - Nes, VC

That's about it. I think the only other game I have 2 of is Kung-Fu Heroes, but that's because 1 one of the copies was broken. >.<

Rayman, first on GBA, then on PS1, and I plan to buy it yet again on PSN, once the PSP gets online. Sure, it's not the greatest game, but there something about it that keeps me coming back...

Other than that, though, once is usually enough for me to buy a game. I just don't see why anyone would want to buy the same game over and over again when they have working versions of it in other forms.

I've bought Star Fox Adventures off and on for years now. Selling it and re-buying it about 5 times now.

Just for you.

I don't think I have any doubles of my games (aside from the Zelda compilation i got free with Windwaker).

The one exception I might make is Ocarina of Time for the 3DS.

I try to avoid having doubles of games. Think the only games I have twice are the Mega Drive Sonic titles, but only because I picked up Sonic Mega Collection Plus for a fiver.

I don't buy anything I already own either, for the most part. The only game I have two copies of is Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (Genesis and iPhone). I don't think I'll get Sonic 2 on the iPhone though, because despite the joy of a portable Sonic and the lack of emulation issues that plagues the DS version, I hate using touch screen buttons.

The only other games I've rebought are Star Fox 64, Majora's Mask, and Mario 64. I'll probably buy SSB when I get back too. Unfortunately, many of the games I'd rebuy for Nintendo 64 are Rare titles, so I may end up getting the originals of all of those carts too. I also have the OoT/MQ disc, but that hardly counts, since it was free.

I've also considered buying the Master System Sonic games, because I have them on Game Gear, and it's sort of a pain to bust that out to play. Unfortunately Sonic Triple Trouble was only released on Game Gear, so I probably will never see that on VC.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.
