Topic: favorite video game story?

Metal Gear Solid 1 for the PS1(not the Gamecube remake). Snake Eater and Peace Walker had awesome stories as well.

If you can explain to me how my choice of FFXIII is wrong, I would gladly accept it as sarcastic.

I did and, in my opinion, it was more ground breaking than Ocarina of Time. I metaphorically s**t myself multiple times watching my older brother play through it that day. I still get goosebumps from its perfected voice acting.

Ironically, both Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear Solid were released within a month of each other. What a time to be a gamer, lol.

Does it really matter if someone likes a game more than you?

(note: I've used the word butthurt more than once in like a week or two so I will stop for a while now, I just felt I had no choice this time)

Favorite Video Game story? Hmmm, that is a really really really really very really tough question for me to answer. I've played games of just about every kind of genres on every system including PC nearly my entire Life.

For me, I probably found Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Most of the FIre Emblems, Half Life 1 and 2(including the expansions/episodes), Xenoblade Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid 1,(NOT 2),3, & 4, Morrowind, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2(Not the MMO), Jedi Outcast I & II, Golden Sun 1, 2, & 3, Earth Bound(Mother 2), Turok 1 & 2, Kid Icarus Uprising (even though it was over the top it was really enjoyable), Advance Wars Days of Ruin, Metroid series(entire series), Final Fantasy 7 & 10, Bioshock, Deus Ex 1 and Human Revolutions, Star Craft (haven't played 2 yet), and Perfect Dark.....to be some of the most enjoyable storylines. In no particular order what so ever.

There are a ton more I could mention but that would just be to much.....the ones I listed however are among the most memorable storyline experiences of video games.

I never said it was wrong. I just thought it was sarcasm because most people ive heard dont like FFXIII story.

@CactusJackson when did I say he likes the game more than me I really like XIII and the story was really good. But when I say that most people dont agree with me.

Simpsons Hit and Run has a pretty fantastic story.

Best game story is very tuff. There are many great stories out there, but I'm just going to pick one game as my fav story of all time. It's a quick decision and I might change my mind. That all being said I think Metroid Fusion has at this moment my most memorable and favorite story of all time. It's simple and errie, but I never though in a million years that Samus would actually be injected with Metroid DNA. What a twist!!!

I totally forgot, I loved the story in World of Goo as well!

I loved it too! The whole atmosphere felt like Dr. Seuss, only with a dark mysterious undertone that just left me in curious awe.

That's actually one of my favourite video games of all time!

I see how you miss interpreted it but I was saying people I heard dont like it. I probably like the story more than him.

It's a cop-out answer, but I'm not sure I have any one favorite. 999, Ghost Trick, the Ace Attorney series, the Half-Life series, Majora's Mask, Final Fantasy VI, VII, IX and XII, Suikoden III and V, Okami, Radiant Historia, Fragile Dreams and Persona 4 all had stories I greatly enjoyed.

So I just beat Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward earlier today. That easily takes the cake for the best story in a video game, at least in my eyes. Seriously, if you have played 999 all the way through and haven't picked this up yet, you are really missing out.
