Topic: favorite video game story?

When I was younger I really loved the stories in Wing Commander, especially once the FMV came into play. Prophecy was a little iffy. Too many Top Gun parallels, just felt cheap in that regard. Fun though.

I did enjoy the story and in fact most aspects of the game Lost Odyssey. It wasn't edge of your seat material but when taken with the "memory" sequences which were all text, it was really good.

I'm thinking of picking up the new Layton game because I keep hearing it's a great story. Should I? I've never played Layton. Should I start with Curious Village?

While it helps, it isn't necessary to play previous games (that might have changed since I only played up to the 3rd game, I dunno). And Curious Village's story was pretty dissappointing imo. One of those stories that is largely buildup but the payoff is pretty laughably bad.

Really like the Kingdom Hearts storyline. Can't really tell why but I feel so attached Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Namine etc. Plus Kh2 has the happiest ending known to man, can't help but grin like an idiot whenever I watch the final cutscene on youtube xD.

I like the Portal series' story

This, though of the two I prefer the first one's, by far. In fact, I love it so much, the only video game story that I love more is BIT.TRIP's.

My personal favourite is probably Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
There are definitely better stories out there, but I just love that game so much.

I don't have the most favorite game story, but my favorite one I can think of at the moment is either Zone of the Enders or the Resident Evil games when Umbrella was alive.

Yeah, they were great! There was a great twist in the middle of Portal 2!

If fact, the Portal series is my favourite of all time, second to only the Mario platformers!
