Oh, MySims.
The reason I want to buy Wii back in year 2009.
I love the cute Chibi design from MySims, it was like a love letter from EA to Nintendo during Wii and NDS era.
MySims Wii itself actually have great potential to be Animal Crossing clones on Wii, but it seems the gameplay just only have two objections: collect the essences and build the furnitures. And the object interactions were pretty much like Animal Crossing.
Did you play other MySims games ?

Groovz

MySims Kingdom and MySims Agents were pretty good

This feel hilariously redundant a thread to make on a Nintendo forum.

...but if I were to name a game very much specifically made for a younger audience even within Nintendo, I'd go with the Legendary Starfy. It is the most "Japanese game made for 8 year olds" I've ever played, even with Kirby existing. But its really good. I kinda wish the other 4 Japan only games came over here crosses fingers for NSO releases

also Yoshi's Story, which is still a good game, deal with it

Been trying really hard to remember what games I've played when I was younger and i managed to remember quite a few:
1.Cool Spot (Genesis)
2. Taz Escapes from Mars (Genesis)
3. Toy Story 2 (Dreamcast) Really a decent & average 3D platformer btw.
4. Tetris Plus (PS1). Yes, it's Tetris. Yes, it's a puzzle game. But it's something anyone can play regardless of age. Also, i have this currently on saturn btw.
5. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger (GC).

And that's it really. I'll update when I can remember more.

It is not a very popular opinion, but I find Lego Worlds to be awesome! It is like Minecraft (which I LOVE) but with harder and more uncomfortable controls and mechanics

Two that come to mind that I played as a kid were a Barbie game (Riding Club, I think, whichever PC game on Windows 95 had you looking for a unicorn) and 101 Dalmations: Escape fron DeVille Manor. Those two, along with Mario 1 (GBC) and Pokemon Yellow were among the first games I ever beat by myself.

Two series I played quite a bit later were the Style Savvy games and Fossil Fighters games. Really fun. I hope Nintendo revives them eventually.

Throwing some nostalgy, Tomba! games were really good and still replay them from time to time. Hamtaro games for GBC/GBA were nice as well, would love to replay them at some point soon.

I have always loved the NES era Capcom games. Games like Ducktales, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, and even the Magical Quest on SNES. I also enjoyed the TMNT games (minus the first one), which I have been replaying alot since I got the Cowabunga Collection.

Frankly I think it's infantilising to make content "for kids". Kids are more capable than that, I think too often we sell them short. Obviously you're not going to show gore, high impact violence or anything of that nature to kids but the cutesy kids stuff? eh, I think we can give kids better stuff than that

I remember when I was a little kid I was into all sorts of stuff. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gumby, Pingu, Samurai Pizza Cats, Power Rangers. Not necessarily "kidsy" stuff but, you know, appropriate for kids still. One of my earliest memories of going to the movies was to watch The Lion King and, frankly, I appreciate it just as much now when I first watched it. The Hanz Zimmer stampede theme ending with that dolly zoom still tears me apart. I remember being blown away by Jurassic Park, I would've been maybe 8 when I watched it

When my house got our first console and then later I got my Gameboy and then a SNES? Same deal. I loved Alex Kidd and I remember some 1942 clone that I was super into. Then I was into Mario Land, Tetris, Dr Mario, Donkey Kong Land, Pokemon. On the SNES The Lost Vikings, Unirally, Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Stunt Race FX etc. These weren't "kids games", they were good games... that happened to be appropriate for a kid

So what kids games do I like? I don't like "kids games". I like good games and some of them happen to also be appropriate for kids. If I could take my Switch now, wind back the clock and pick three games to give 8 year old me? It'd probably be Mario Kart 8, Link's Awakening HD and, if I'm being honest, probably Metroid Dread. Would you call Metroid Dread a "kids game" though? Certainly not

I still curious to see the approach from 3rd party publisher in bringing more kids games from other kids franchises on this era.
Merge Games surprisingly bring Cry Babies, the franchise I have never knew before but the gameplay trailer quickly sold me out as I like to play cute games with simple gameplay yet still acceptable enough for me.
During Wii and NDS era, there were a lot of Baby games but most of them look crappy in my opinion. But now there are more publisher who still want to relive the Baby games with better gameplay, it makes me happy as the games like that still have their audiences and the audience is definitely me.

And from the other publisher like Modus Games, I'm so happy to see more farming sim games for kids Paleo Pines with cute design and pastel colors for modern consoles. It looks like the developers and publisher really understand to capture the moment by providing more cozy games with cute design to get more audiences of those games.

Huh, I just had a thought. Even though the likes of us a hardcore gamers poo-poo things like Paw Ryan Square Sponge Racing or whatever being rubbish licensed when the opposite happens of a beloved game franchise gets developed into a cringe movie like the Mario movie a lot of folk on here were celebrating it as 9/10 whilst movie buffs sneered at how meh it was.

Family Feud for Switch and PS4.
One of classic Quiz game with new looking.
The peoples design looks like The Sims 4 characters. 🤭
I really hope there will be more Quiz shows games revived on modern consoles after Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, Are You Smarter Than 5th Graders.

My favourite 'Kids' games would have to be the Buzz Junior series for PS2. Still occasionally bust them out (with the Buzz Controllers) when my brother and his family come to visit. Can't remember the exact name of it, but the Monster one is my personal favourite.
