Well... It depends on the episode. Family Guy is pretty consistent in its humor, with some being more funny than others. Futurama has its good moments, but its definitely not as good as some others. South Park can be really hilarious at times, and really awful at others. For me, I would choose between Family Guy and South Park, with SP being a little ahead for its amazing moments (who doesn't love imagination land?).
I am getting more tired of SP, since most of what it does now is make fun of real life situations and never creates anything really original. All shows have their ups and their downs, which SP's being more eminent, but when you watch episodes such as Super Fun Time and The List, you realize that it sparks above all other shows at its best.

Sigh...The Simpsons.
All the rest are mostly disgraceful.

Just watch Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Sym-Bionic Titan, then come back. Mad, Generator Rex, Phineas and Ferb, and Fish Hooks are good too

I don't know about Mad, Titan or Rex, but the rest of those are absolutely horrible. Especially Adventure Time. It is ridiculously stupid.

I think Cartoons have to make full use of their medium to be worthwhile. The Golden Age of animation is really the only age I care about. That's when being a cartoon was actually about being a cartoon. Characters stretched and flattened, and much of the humor came not from the writing, but from the hilarious things the animators were able to do with the visuals. The Simpsons and Family Guy are pretty funny, well written shows, but as cartoons I think they're pointless. The shows you mentioned above--ESPECIALLY Phineas and Ferb--are all examples of things I hate in modern animation (except adventure time--that show actually has some good things about it). They're run not by animators, but by hack writers. They're lazily drawn, lazily animated, characters are constrained to pre-set proportions and a stock of pre-animated facial expressions.

...can you tell this is a sensitive issue for me?

I'm dissapointed no-one has mentioned King of the Hill. Great characters and fine animation.
I love watching that show! (see the other cartoon thread for the reasons why.)

As for the topic.... American Dad, Yes! I said it

I just cant stop thinking of the episode where Stan Bullies Steve, when he pushes him to the ground and Steve says "Get off me!" and Stan says "Thats what your Mom said Last night." Steve's Face was Priceless

I have a new favorite denizen of NL. (Sorry, Prosody.) Awesome icon, too. Hatred's actually my favorite character.

Well, I was definitely surprised by the sudden premier of Robotomy. I have to say, it was excellent. Reminded me much of Superjail. No coincidence, because one of the main people from that show are working on it. But yeah, check out Robotomy.

The old episodes of The Simpsons own all (Futurama, too)!

I'm back (for the moment)!

Easily South Park. It's much more clever in my opinion and still seems to reinvent itself each season even though they have covered pretty much everything over the years with their edgy and positively insulting humour.

Family Guy and The Simpsons went downhill after a few seasons and aren't really as creative anymore. They don't seem to be able to keep their shows as fresh as Matt Stone and Trey Parker. When it comes to American Dad and the Cleveland Show: I've seen only a few episodes of those but they seem to be basically the same as Family Guy but not nearly as funny.

Need to watch me some more Futurama, though. I've seen about 20 episodes of it and so far I think it's absolutely awesome. I think it's funnier than The Simpsons.

This makes no sense at all. Are you suggesting any cartoon show should apply unrealistic physics and logic just because it can? Are you implying that Simpsons should have rather been a live-action show?
I can't describe how much I disagree with your opinion. If you actually took some time to think about it properly, you'd have realized that the Simpsons actually benefits from being a cartoon show rather than a live-action show; e.g. all the times Homer gets injured, all the stupid stunts Bart pulls off, etc. In live-action so many of them would only be able to be pulled off with special effects and they would probably still look extremely clunky. Plus, consider all the physical restrictions. If Simpsons wasn't a cartoon, they'd have to switch out the actors for pretty much the whole cast every few years. In addition, would Bart be allowed to show his naked butt into the camera if Simpsons wasn't a cartoon?

In addition to that, you are also pretty much labeling Anime (except for super deformed ones) as completely pointless. In a lot of Animes, the animation is a very important aspect and the animators put at least as much effort into it as your "holy cartoonists".

Just because their doors don't bend like rubber when slammed, they aren't any less worth in my opinion.

I've always liked The Simpsons, and I don't think the show is going downhill. Futurama is also excellent, though I haven't seen any of the new episodes. Family Guy is funny most of the time, but I don't watch it much anymore. I haven't seen too much of The Cleveland Show and I've never been a big fan of American Dad, but they're not bad.

Futurama is definitely my favorite "cartoon show" right now.
South Park was my favorite last year, but after so many disappointing episodes I have a hard time liking it now.
I haven't watched any of the recent Simpsons episodes yet, so I can't really judge on it.
I loved American Dad two years ago but I'm not really interested in the newer episodes. It's still above Family Guy.
