@adamant/turtlelink thats like saying infinite world is budokai 4.....im saying where is Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4.....not that discrace of a dbz game we call raging blast!
the fact that Funi once again cut off the bottom and top picture just to make it widescreen kind of killed the experience. But this cropped widescreen is a big no no.
The movies aren't cropped. They were animated for movie screen format, since they're, you know, movies.
Another thing that I found annoying in the US dub was the constant cheesy Nirvana-like grundge teen party 'non-fitting' rock music....It was espacially bad in Cooler's Revenge....To top it off there was even a rock band singer singing during some of the rock moments!...I mean seriously, it so doesn't fit the atmosphere and comes off like Funi's trying to be 'tween cool' to some of the young teenagers.
well, what are you watching that terrible dub for, then? The original is right there on the DVD.
The Coola movies aren't exactly my favorites, but the second one at least stands out by it's uniqueness. It's not a battle against a seemingly unbeatable powerhouse, but against a giant "computer" that essentially controls the entire planet. It's different, and the day isn't really saved by Goku pulling something out of his for once, either. It could've been better, but at least it stands out.
Super Android 13 totaly has my interest, along with the later movies.
It has one of the most stylistically cool endings you'll find in these movies, but other than that, it doesn't have much more than endless amounts of generic and not very entertaining fighting. Worth it for the conclusion of the battle, though.
I thought you guys just need to hear this [youtube:uxj8VvTSmPU&feature=related] It is the Burst Limit opening played by a teen. It sounds awesome thanks to the amp of epic he is using
Then why is it that Funimation released Full 4:3 versions of the movies previously on DVD? I've compared the shots and clearly there is screen missing from the top and bottom of the screen on the Blu ray discs. They basically stuck black bars over the top and bottom of the image to make it widescreen for the most part which totaly annoys me just like the Orange Brick remastered Box sets. But apperantly the movies 'were' released in japan with widescreen in mind.
The movies were animated in 4:3, yes, but they were animated with the full knowledge that the top and bottom wouldn't be seen. There's nothing in those "missing" portions of the image you were meant to see, and there are occasionally unfinished linework, sloppy drawings and the like. You're not missing anything you were intended to see, but you ARE seeing quick-and-dirty half-completed stuff you weren't supposed to.
I say the first one too. Good plot with a neat backstory, good villains, fun chemistry between Goku and Piccolo, someone other than Goku saving the day, awesome insert song scene... what's there not to like?
Movie 4 is a good runner up - yeah, it's essentially a Daimaou arc retread, but it works, it has Piccolo winning fights, it has good fighting and pacing... good stuff.
Movie 10 I quite like, too. The Goten/Trunks/Videl teamup is fun, and something we never really see anywhere else. And the ending, while a bit weird, actually works pretty damn well. Much better than the typical "then Goku decided to use Bullshit Punch and killed the villain in one hit" stuff the movies got so fond of using, at least.
Movie 13 had potential, but the lack of direction really annoyed me. The movie seemed to center on the Saiyaman duo at first, but then shifts its focus completely to Trunks and builds him up... until the last 5 minutes, when they just have Goku, who was barely in the movie at all up until this point, randomly steps up and one shots the villain with the bullshittiest Bullshit Punch ever. Argh.
By the way, which was your guys favorite Broly DBZ movie out of the 3?
Movie 10, the second one, as mentioned. Absolutely no contest there.
(Calling Movie 11 a Broli movie is a bit of a stretch, too, it's not really about him, he's not in it that much, and it's not the real Broli anyway)
Ahh. Well what about Bojack Unbound and Fusion Reborn? For me, Bio Broly looks the most unapealing of the bunch regarding the ones I still have yet to see.
I heard the first Broly movie was the best, but i never finished it.
Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast 2 comes with a remastered version of the 30 minute special Plan to "Eradicate the Saiyans"! I hope the PS3 version comes with it on Blu-Ray (which it probably will)
I loved Dragon Ball, and IMO, it's a bonified classic. It's just too bad the series spiralled downhill starting with Dragon Ball Z.
I agree! I like Dragon Ball but as for Dragon Ball Z and GT I can't either of those two. They should have stopped with Dragon Ball and gone no further! I can't stand his contorted muscles and the elongated adult body! Seriously Dragon Ball is far better.

I'm sorry, I've long since given up grammar nazism but that is the most unfortunate misspelling I have seen in a long time. I actually laughed out loud when I saw it. xD You mean "bona fide".
Gentlemen, feel free to return to on-topic discussion now.
Well, another DBZ game is being made for the DS. From the looks of the screenshots on the website, Dragon Ball Z Kai might go pretty far. They had pics of Babidi and Cell in a more "clear" look.
The more I watch Kai, the more I dislike it. Again, without Bruce Faulconers atmopsheric score Dragon Ball Z takes a huge nose dive, and the voice over changes have been made for the worst. At least Frieza sounds better, unlike his barbaric chain smoking witch-like voice from DBZ.
Hell, Vegeta doesn't sound quite as Prince-ish and evil as he did before. Krillans voice has taken on a slightly more mature and serious tone, while Gohan's new voice is just awful. Even Yajarobe sounds different. Anyways, I'm interested in seeing the trunks saga and everything past that....But so far, for me DBKai is huge step backwards. Faulconer's score isn't in it, they cut out the filler which i loved, and the new voice overs are dissapointing.
Anyways! What they need to do is release DBZ on bluray, with no cropped wide screen and with Brucefaulconers score in 5.1 DTS Master.
DBZ Kai is also missing some episodes from DBZ.
This Show really feels Water down. But some of the New Music is not all that bad.

I didn't like the Fact thet cut out the Blood and the Death scenes too. "It what made Boys in to Manly Men".
But you can't really blame them there, after all, it is a Kids Network. After saying that, Shouldn't they cut out all the Gay scenes in Big Time Rush, after all, it is a Kids Network

Yea the blood is pathetic. They changed it with what looks like a little dirt. You can hardly tell if they where in a fight or not. I'm not a huge fan of blood or gore, but this is just ridiculous. I also remember they where showing the original Dragon Ball 2 or 3 years ago on the Funimation Channel. Of course they stopped showing it after I started recording it.
