Topic: Do you think there will be a Banjo Kazooie 4?

It's been 4 years almost since we had a Banjo Kazooie game. That's half of the time gap between Banjo Tooie and Nuts & Bolts. Do you think there will be another new console game of Banjo Kazooie? Maybe there will even be a surprise announcement of B-K 4 at this year's E3?

A new BK game would actually be the 5th installment, not the 4th.

That said, i doubt we'll see a new BK any time soon.

Not in a long time- if at all. Microsoft has been pushing Rare to focus on games for Kinect. I don't know why MS just didn't open a new studio to focus on that... Rare has loads of amazing properties and they're just going to waste.

Nope, the Rare of today is a pale shadow of it's former self.

It would be banjo 3 as nuts and. Bolts wasnr a numbered sequel.

ollowing yesterday's revelation that Fable studio Lionhead is making an "MMO-like" RPG for the next Xbox, it has now emerged that Kinect Sports developer Rare is working on a raft of Durango games.

Rare is hiring for "multiple" triple-A games for the next Xbox, according to a job ad.

The job spec (spotted by Superannuation), calls for a senior product manager to help create "multiple AAA future console releases".

It suggests Rare will continue to make games in the successful Kinect Sports franchise, but also branch out with new IP. The listing says the candidate will ideally have experience in the action/adventure or FPS genres.

"Whilst continual development of their core releases will be maintained, the successful candidate will be joining at a time where the studio is looking to move into new areas and develop new IPs for future platforms," it reads.

"You will have a successful history of releasing exceptional AAA games and these will ideally be in the Action/Adventure or FPS genre but this is not essential."

Last month former Sega design chief Simon Woodroffe became the new creative director of Rare. "I am looking forward to getting stuck into making incredible games that will be worthy additions to the pedigree of the studio," he said at the time.

Rare has in recent years focused on Kinect Sports, but over the years has released a number of Xbox games for owner Microsoft, including Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Viva Pinata and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

How does that mean there wont be another Banjo Game when Microsoft not only owns the il but published nuts and bolts as well as the first two games on xbox along with putting Banjo in sonic all star racing.

There needs to be a 3 yet. Saying Nuts and Bolts was Banjo Kazooie 3 is like saying Operation Racoon City is Resident Evil 6.

Well looking at every other game company from the 90s or earlier, at some point they will stop sucking and make a new Banjo game that people will want, but eventually will go to the opposite extreme of what they do now and only make blatant retreads of their older, well-liked games for all eternity.

For the record, yes, I do suspect there'll be another BK game somewhere down the line. Probably several.

Why is everyone forgetting/overlooking that "Banjo 3" was Grunty's Revenge on the GBA?

1. It was this weird midquel or alternate sequel to Kazooie or something.
2. No one knew it existed. Seriously, I had been paying attention to gaming news an absurd amount at the time, and I had no idea the game even still existed, let alone that it was released recently. I just found it by chance at Gamestop.
3. It wasn't that good. It wasn't bad and it was impressive in some ways but it was just a much worse version of the other games.

@dark-insanity Are you suggesting that Banjo Pilot was canon? Grunty's Revenge was an interquel/spin off, it wasn't very good either.

I hope the series continues,i was one of the few who actually enjoyed Nut's 'n Bolts.

Nuts and Bolts was a decent game concept, but it wasn't Banjo Kazooie.. It seemed like Rare had developed the mechanics for Nuts and Bolts and figured the only way it would sell was if they slapped a Banjo Kazooie skin over everything.
