For the same reason that taking a paper plane and "making it more advanced" will give you a Boeing Jet. You're underestimating the R & D that goes into this stuff to a comic degree.

On topic:

As we all know, the PS Move is nowhere as successful as Kinect.

I'm not sure how this statement means PS Move is a failure. The Xbox 360 is nowhere near as successful at the Wii. Microsoft might as well pull out of the industry entirely.

While I appreciate the comparison, you're kind of missing the point. PS Move isn't selling well at all, while the Kinect is constantly selling out (at least in the Walmart where I work). Have you seen PS Move sell out anywhere?

When you can provide me with Sony's profit-and-loss balance sheet that proves Move is a failure, you'll have a point.

I'm not talking about profit & loss ratio. I'm talking about consumer interest and developer support. Kinect has both, Move is struggling. Sony is practically the only company that supports the Move.

Sony using Kinect? Why don't they just use the PlayStation Eye camera and make it more advanced? That would be like Microsoft using a Wii Remote for Windows.

No reason to use a competitor's product when you've got the resources to make your own version.

Sony doesn't want to take the time out and can't afford to put the R&D into advanced motion capturing and Voice recongtion technology.

Why do you think sony PC's uses windows and they're phones run android instead a customized version of XMB.

Do you think Sony phones will ever run Windows Phone 7?

Also, the PlayStation Eye camera can use voice recognition and motion capture. Even the PS2 Eye-Toy camera did it. It's mostly software-based.

Kinect 2,0 is able to do some amazing things from the tech demo they showed.

I don't think sony ever want's to use WP7. No way they wan't to advertise xbox live. That also makes things more instreating on what they will do when Windows 8 hits.

Also you have to pay to license windows phone metro, while android is free. That may not matter as Sony like other Android OEMs may start having to pay Microsoft $15 based on each phone sold.

WAT!

And THQ is literally the only company that supports uDraw, and yet uDraw is a massive success.

You said "failure," you did not say "consumer interest and developer support," you said "failure," which is a sales term.

I don't think sony ever want's to use WP7. No way they wan't to advertise xbox live. That also makes things more instreating on what they will do when Windows 8 hits.

My prediction is that future Sony Tablets will something like the PS3 OS, and future Sony laptops will use Google's Chromebook OS. I don't see Sony supporting Windows 8 when it becomes Xbox Live integrated.

But with Sony using Kinect, in a way they are promoting an Xbox device, since that's what Kinect was made for.

Personally I don't see it happening. Sony tried to do something with Nintendo's idea and they just ended up with the same problem; there are very few good game developers that are willing to develop for the controller. True, it was a success, but I can't think of any games that the normal gaming audience really liked that were specifically designed with the Move in mind. Maybe that's because I don't pay attention to Playstation platforms much, but I still wouldn't believe that there are many games that fit that category.

1) Yay stimulating tech talk.

2) I could see this happening. My only problem for it is that its so relient on the cloud and that's not great for the average consumer. Personally I would love and for the most part chill in the cloud but people like my mom can't. I'm still baffled that The Chrome and Android Teams haven't been integrated yet. I mean Honeycomb/ICS have a UI that works as a Tablet or desktop UI.

Microsoft's Kinect is not that successful. It's a good example of excellent innovation and major hardware failure. They had a great idea but overtook it a step. The Move is just basically a Wiimote for the PS3, if you ask me. It doesn't really count as something extraordinary, seeing as the Wii has already set that path.

The most successful motion-control based console of this generation is the Wii. And I don't believe Sony will continue with the PS Move. It's a big gimmick. They'd be fools to continue something that really isn't much of a drastic addition to their consoles. They'd rather much come up with something more original and, well, fun.
