Thanks! Regarding the carving: it's specifically a no-carve competition, presumably so we don't introduce rotting fruit and bugs to the office. But that actually works in my favor, as I can't carve worth a darn.

On a side note, is that a tradition around Halloween? I know about carving pumpkins, but not painting them. I'm not familiar with the customs around Halloween but this looks like a lot of fun. Too bad it will rot after a while.

Nah. Carving is by far the more recognizable Halloween tradition. We just didn't want pumpkin guts and fruit flies in the office. If you carve them, you tend to leave them outside afterward, as they get pretty gross pretty fast.

Painting them isn't unheard of, but I wouldn't say it's traditional.

So last week I painted a pumpkin to look like a boob and I tied a pink ribbon around the stem. You know to create breast cancer awareness? Well my neighbor freaks out and calls it "classless"! I was like, "Listen dude! I am trying to create awarness for a serious issue! This pumpkin has a lump and everything!" I put it inside anyway to avoid drama even though he was completely wrong, in my opinion.

Anyway, creative pumpkins are pretty keen.
