No Switch 2 announcement for sure. I'm okay with not quite having it yet, but being stuck in this weird limbo of having little happening this year or even announced because we've been in this period of "next gen is coming you guys!" for over a year is very irritating and disappointing. I want bold new hardware features and big games to look forward to again, and we really don't have anything aside from Metroid Prime 4 and maybe Legends Z-A depending on the scope, and I'm not even convinced yet that those aren't cross gen games anyway. We need this thing announced ASAP because everything Nintendo has nearly ground to a halt without it.
I like to think I had a pretty good year as far as the games I played go, so it says a lot that my biggest disappointment was with Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown which is a game a lot of people seem to like. I certainly respect the team at Montpellier for breaking from the standard Ubisoft mold (and it's very tragic to hear they were basically disbanded), and I really wanted to love this one as a fan of both Prince Of Persia and metroidvanias. But sadly, it just didn't really scratch either itch for me. The parkour felt like it took a backseat to the combat which I didn't find especially enjoyable, the majority of the collectibles being optional lore pickups coupled with the massive world size made me not want to explore much, and the dull story didn't do much to keep me playing. It felt like the game was trying to do way too much without actually nailing anything that I love about the metroidvanias it was obviously taking inspiration from.
I'll also say Mario & Luigi: Brothership. I didn't hate the game, but I feel it could've been a lot better. The pacing is sluggish, with the whole game seemingly taking forever to finish... which is especially apparent when I got to about the halfway point, let's say. Maybe a little more than that. I was close to getting burnt out, and I really, really wanted this game to end. But it just kept on going! I didn't like the sailing mechanic that much either. The battle system is still as good as ever, and the new Bros. Attacks are fun to use. Though I will say, the fact that Luigi's battle options can't be picked with B has thrown me off a few times.
Really wanted to love this game, and I did have some fun with it, but overall I didn't like Brothership that much.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
This seems to be a common theme here. People playing, because it is good enough for that, but there is too much of it. You get desperate to just move on from it. The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am.
