Sorry Raylax, I was just trying to create some buzz for discussion. I guess you don't like the toys I threw out at you that hit you on the forehead, you can have Buzz Lightyear . I was trying not to say that we where here to spice up the thread. Cause I thought DBD would say something along the line like, "Since no one is responding it means no one is interested, thread closed".
Edit: We decided on 8-bit, but Raylax the first sprite I did for Palapas, what does that look like to you? I mean do we have to be restricted to the amount of colors we can use?
If the thread gets closed then there's nothing we can do about that. I'd like it to stay alive for the aformentioned reasons, but I'm sure the mods have better things to be doing than babysitting a 20-page thread that by rights should probably have dropped off the first page by now if not for our intervention. I'd rather be outright and honest about why it's still here.
As for sprite colours, It's your call. I see no reason to be too restrictive on colour if the sprites look good and we can produce them at a decent rate. I can't offer much comment from an artistic standpoint though, I'm not a spriter.

I don't know how Yai puts the graphics in the game (meaning it might make it harder for her) but I if I can do the graphics like this, I could actually do a lot of these in a small period of time. http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/237/76604044.png
I like it Not particularly "8bit" per se, but it doesn't have to be. As long as the game looks good, and all the pixel art works well together it will be fine. Btw, if you do end up making the sprites, here's a handy guide to choosing colors - http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/colours.html

Y'know what, those look awesome. I'd love to see the game like that. You'll probably be pretty much on your own when it comes to the graphics, but if you're up to it then sweet stuff.
I think they're about as detailed enough as they are. Just make sure the background doesn't clash with the forground or stuff may be hard to see, maybe mute the BG colours a little.
Oh, an unrelated side-note. If the Coffeh forums are being slow, I'm afraid that's just an unfortunate side-effect of budget hosting. They're a tad slow right now, can't do anything about that. They'll speed up later, but they're liable to go through slow patches around peak times (European servers, about 5pm to 8pm GMT)
wow, what's with the flipping out back there? I've stated on multiple occasions that I've got no intentions of locking this thread provided it remains open to public input. I knew what was going on, i had already seen that post, zez -- Raylax had a valid point, that the number of animal buddies requested could be too much for the game; it's just that the reaction it garnered was somewhat uncalled for. that's the only reason i said anything.
bumping for the sake of bumping isn't cool, but if you've got an update or some kind of neat development going on, sure, post it. i've got no issues with people posting in this thread provided that the posts are relevant to the topic at hand, as they have been so far. since when have I ever locked a thread due to sheer inactivity alone? :/
