BTW, I have started reading Rurouni Kenshin! Though I've seen the anime twice (once when it was originally on Toonami, and again online in 2010), this is my first time reading the manga, & I'm loving it!
I especially like how every other chapter, Watsuki (the author) includes a note to the readers in the middle of the chapter, or includes a description of how he came up with a certain character at the end of a chapter. It's hilarious reading about his Samurai Showdown addiction, and how a surprising number of characters were influenced by the X-Men, lol

So I found out Gundam Build Fighters ended over a month ago. Thank God that's over with.
Guess what just got announced for a second season.
Things just keep getting second seasons. Durarara, Psycho Pass, Log Horizon, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, the list goes on.
Huh, other than Jojo, I didn't know those animes got second seasons green lit.

What's up with all of this "Season" talk? I didn't think anime had seasons.
Doesn't it just keep going every week all year every year until it ends/gets cancelled? I thought that's one of the reasons they had filler, because they obviously can't get ahead of the manga, but don't go on hiatus.
Unless things are changing...

You're thinking of animes like Naruto and Onepiece that have filler arcs (any sort of shonen jump epic). Most anime these days do indeed go on hiatus in between story arcs... Eh... Assuming the anime leaves room for continuation. This is why Attack on Titan ended at the Female Titan arc while the manga continues the plot.

Not true at all. Ever realized how a lot of anime wind up being 13, 26, 52, episodes, or somewhere around those counts? Well the thing is, in Japan as "season" is 13 episodes, or a quarter of a year. So you have shows that run for one season, two seasons (half the year) three seasons, or four seasons. (Whole year) If it runs continuously then its still "one" season however. A lot of popular anime now usually are being split into seasons. Magi for example. Season 1 (The Labyrinth of Magic) started Fall 2012 season, and ran till the end of Winter 2013 season, making it 26 episodes in total. Then, Fall 2013 Season 2 (The Kingdom of Magic) began, and the wrapped up in the Winter 2014 season. A third season is planned. But yeah, standalone anime, or anime that are going to continue with new seasons tend to stick to this schedule. Very few shows, like Hunter X Hunter, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, etc that run for 100s of episodes are weekly with no real stop.

BTW, (looking at your profile) good to know we have another Gundam and Giant Robot aficionado on this forum. Hell, I didn't know I'd see someone who even knew about Dancouga Nova (which I never did get around to watching because I wanted to buy it from FYE but their prices never go down ever), let alone be able to identify it just by site. Seen any other good Giant Robot series?

Ever see Dai Guard? I really enjoyed it many years ago. Its definitely different then your normal giant meca show. Also worth mentioning is Escaflowe, Parallel Duel, and Rahxephon!
Aside from the essentials (Daiguard, Gunbuster + Diebuster, Mazinkaiser, GaoGaiGar, etc.) I haven't seen a good Giant Robot show in ages. Captain Earth is airing this season and it features a Giant Robot as its main robo but tread carefully as we haven't seen the Earth Engine (the robot) do... Well anything yet. It hasn't done much aside from a punch (apparently it has vulcans in it's fists too?). So far all the show has done for 6 episodes is build our characters up. I don't hate it yet and our main character is not a wimp so I'll see if it goes anywhere.

I haven't watched any more of Captain Earth since episode one. It had flashy animation, and cool designs, but I dunno, I just haven't come back to it yet.
Also, anyone else think Professor Layton should have an anime? I mean, they already made a very good anime movie.

I said Giant Robot to sorta lump Super Robot and Mecha together. I know both have been on a decline lately, but there are still a few here and there that are good. Plus, "the essentials" are more than what most around here have watched. Hell, I'd kill just to meet someone else who even knows what GaoGaiGar is, and here you've actually seen it. You seen GaoGaiGar Final too, right?
@Tech - I remember you recommending me all 4 of those shows (plus Full metal Panic)...and I just realized I never finished any of those shows. I got really far into Escaflowne, but I guess I got distracted, or maybe bored since I think that was a lull in the story (around episode 17 I think). I did watch some Dai-Guard, but forgot about it. Seeing how awesome the Dai-Guard was in Super Robot Wars Z2 makes me want to go and watch it, though. It's got a great theme song, too.
You guys would probably disagree, but as an anime I do think Digimon is better than Pokemon, though I do admit the first English Digimon movie was ruined by the fact they were trying to squeeze 3 movies in one so it had poor editing and the plot for the 2nd and 3rd halves were changed making the film painful to watch. As a rule of the thumb Digimon is better on tv but Pokemon reigns supreme in feature films. On a more mature note I love Fruits Basket, Vampire Knight, and Sword Art. I also liked Yu-gi-oh 5Ds, but I don't really care for Zexal. I really like Gundam Wing and Gravitation. I wish Ryuiichi was real and straight! That was the only Yaoi I ever watched and actually liked. I also like anything Miyazaki. There are few anime I don't like but taking no. 1 as the worst is Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo. I'm sure alot would agree.
Yes I've seen GaoGaiGar Final too. Oh and while it's on my mind, Knights of Sidonia is one of the better mecha anime currently airing. The only thing that may be strange is that the entire series is CG. It's a bit stiff with missing frames in the first episode but it gets better in episode 2 and beyond. So far it's solid with a rather realistic tone despite being in the future with robots and the fight scenes are rather good too.
