Is there any word on a new season of Digimon? Xros Wars and it's spin-off would be an AWFUL way for the series to go out! It threw away everything that made the series good.
I just couldn't help myself, so I watched the first episode of Stardust Catchers...it was great! I really don't completely understand the stands yet, but they're cool too. (And some of the most famous parts of Jojo) Now I have to wait to Friday...(If I want to watch it legally that is, since I don't have premium, I have to wait a week for the latest episodes) So now I'm watching both Jojo and Captain Earth this season. I'm thinking I'll try Mushishi, Black Bullet, and perhaps that Volleyball anime. I'd also like to restart and catch up in Ace of the Diamond.
Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Reading: The Golden Compass
I started Welcome to the NHK after putting it off for years now. I'm up to episode 7 and I'm enjoying it. What gets my attention with this anime is the look into the Otaku Subculture of Japan. Seeing Sato go from bad to worse and try to dig himself out is interesting and funny. The music in this series is absolutely amazing too. From opening to background music, it's incredible.
I think the irony of Welcome to the NHK is that while I immediately loved it, by around the halfway point or so, the comedy mostly stopped working as comedy for me...and yet that's what made me realize how brilliant it really was. I'm not sure how many people have had a similar experience with the series.
Also, thinking about it, Sato probably deserves to be considered some all time great character? Like not just my opinion but just...in general. In all media.
Anyways, Black Bullet was pretty intense and disturbing this week. Apparently discrimination is still prominent in a post apocalyptic world, only this time it's against superhuman little girls.

Eh, for me, it always worked as a comedy. Thing is, any time I wasn't laughing, I was still engrossed. It's such a great series, and Sato is truly a strong character, messed up as he is.
I also love Chris Patton's voice work with Sato. It is probably his best work, and he has a lot of really good stuff. He's just so good at sounding realistically insane.

Just finished Welcome to the NHK! That was a wonderful series. I enjoyed the comedy it presented in the start and while it stayed there throughout the series, the show took a darker turn half way through still managing to be very entertaining. It was really interesting, I really got engrossed in the character's struggles and wanted to see them grow and improve. Man, you really get some powerful life lessons from this show. The characters were very memorable and it's sad to see this end. Sato was an amazing character. Feels like I have to leave a friend behind.
The music from this series will stay with me for a long time too. A lot of the tracks were used a tad too frequently but they were so good I was glad to hear them again rather than be bothered by how over used it was. Loved it.

I didn't want to spell it out, but what I meant is that the comedy eventually mostly exists to make everything more depressing and the series becomes a masterpiece that way.
I JUST FINISHED BAKUMAN MANGA.... IT WAS SO GOOD. I'M CRYING. I LUV THIS SERIES.
is the manga too different from the anime?(I only have volume 15 and it's sitting untouched since I began reading online Pokémon Adventures soon after getting it) XD

In that respect, you are absolutely correct. It's one of the best anime I've ever seen.

Well I just finished Heaven's Arena. That was a really fun arc to marathon through. The next will be Yorknew City. I'm thinking I'll go through the next arc of One Piece or try to finish another short show before April Break ends.

@GuSilverFlame the anime is almost identical to the manga. It's up to you which format you prefer but I liked reading the manga more. Bakuman is an incredible series. It's funny, more realistic than I expected for this type or series, tension filled, and has memorable characters. It's one of my favorite manga.
@Retro_on_theGo I asked because I watched the anime already(loved it! ) maybe I'll read the manga too...
