@GuardianKing I plan on watching both of them, and S as well, but only after I watch some other anime first. I will probably watch Index II, Railgun, and S, in that order.
I'm a big Spice & Wolf fan and enjoyed both seasons of the anime, and I'm currently on Vol. 9 of the LN. I wish they would make a third season, but I read somewhere that the second season didn't do so well compared to the first, so a third season was never made. It's a shame too, as we we're just about to be introduced to Col and the Wolf-Bone arc too...
For those who haven't seen it, there was a post on 4chan saying "You can't just slap SnK's OP onto everything".
One guy decided to put that statement to the test:
And there's an overlaid version too:
Sorry if it's something people have already seen before. I was digging through my favorites folder and thought I would share them.
just watched the first episode of Haikyuu!
it's as good as the manga!!!!!!!

@V8_Ninja If I've learned anything from my years of being an anime fan, it's that nothing bad can ever happen from watching a show you've never heard of before, simply because someone else said it was good
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
@Intrepid Yay! It's so nice to see another Spice and Wolf fan around here!
Most of the complaints I've heard about Season II related to the ending of the second half, which I completely understand. The real question is, why did they adapt volumes 3 & 5 and just skipped over 4? The reason why 5's ending seems a little inconclusive is because 5 & 6 are "technically" supposed to be part of the same arc, so of course only covering half of it seems kind of unfair to the story...
Also, totally watch A Certain Scientific Railgun, if only to witness Shirai Kuroko, AKA: one of the most entertaining anime characters ever!
So last night instead of watching Captain Earth like I said I would, I saw the first episode of Byrnhildr in the Darkness. It was a fairly mediocre first episode to be honest, after it I still have very little idea of what the show is going to be about. It was mostly backstory, and the OP makes it look like a harem except for scenes where the heroines are covered in blood. Not sure what's going to happen, not sure if I'm going to like it. Proceeding with caution.
Also, I recently started listening to World's End Girlfriend. My gosh, so amazing. I also bought the School Food Punishment album off iTunes! I think I'm just procrastinating from my uni work by looking for more Japanese music...

I started Welcome to the NHK after putting it off for years now. I'm up to episode 7 and I'm enjoying it. What gets my attention with this anime is the look into the Otaku Subculture of Japan. Seeing Sato go from bad to worse and try to dig himself out is interesting and funny. The music in this series is absolutely amazing too. From opening to background music, it's incredible. I'm watching it in Netflix so I saw the first two episodes in Japanese before I figured out they also had the English dub. Both are very good quality. I think the voice actors give a better performance in the Japanese version, but the English one is good and Ive been watching that dub since.
Oh yay. The only thing Attack on Titan needs is more popularity
Jokes aside, I haven't started but I'm not liking how rapidly it's infiltrated anime culture. I feel like I'm being left out of one giant injoke for not watching it
Screw Titan getting more popular, this is going to be a huge boost to Toonami! I'm so glad to see how far the block has come since it's revival.
^welcome to NHK was fun, maybe I should watch it again...

I haven't watched Gokukoku no Brynhildr (Brynhildr in the Darkness) yet, but I do know that manga is written by the same author of Elfen Lied; in case that gives you an idea of what's it about.
I saw the first episode of the new Date A Live season and it had everything I expected. I was kind of surprised at how smoothly they translated the story from the previous season without relying on flashbacks (as far as dialog goes).
For those that don't know, Date A Live is a pretty silly harem based anime where the main protagonist has to make some Spirit girls fall in love with him in by taking them on a date. Once their "affection meter" is high enough, he can seal off a part of their powers and reduce their threat to mankind. There's more to the story than that, but so far only one of the characters seems to know about it, as revealed at the end of the first episode from the second season.

Based on what I've been watching, I'd have to say my favorite works from Weekly Shounen Jump are One Piece, Hunter X Hunter, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Naruto and Bleach don't come close. Toriko I have yet to watch/read tho, and that might be really good, same goes for Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin.
Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable

@Rocko52, now that you say that, that seems like an interesting topic to discuss.
As for WSJ, I'd have to say my favorite series are Dragon Ball/Z, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu & Yu Hakusho (though One Piece is getting there) Though not in the same league, Bleach (especially the early parts) & Naruto aren't too shabby either. Also have lots of nostalgia invested into Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I don't know if I'd like it today.
I also like everything I've seen from Shonen Sunday, like InuYasha, Ranma 1/2, HSDK, & (to a lesser extent) Case Closed/Detective Conan, but it doesn't seem like it's series (or the series from any other publication) get quite as much mainstream attention & success as WSJ.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Yeah, I really do need to get to reading D.Gray-Man, Rurouni Kenshin, Toriko, and Yu Yu Hakusho. (Or watching) While I do like Dragon Ball (the first half, still reading it) I really think it's waaay overrated. Most of the people who love it seem to do so more out of nostalgia and because of its legacy than actual quality. Bleach, which I've experienced firsthand, is definitely overrated as well. While the first arc was interesting if derivative, everything after got worse and worse fast. Naruto I really don't want to bother with simply because of what I've read/heard about it so far. I get that the beginning is probably rather good, but it seems to me that after the timeskip things just keep getting worse.
When it comes to Shounen Sunday, my only experience is with Magi. Which I loved, and will definitely start to read (because of apparent deviations) and watch Season 2. InuYasha and Ranma 1/2 really don't interest me too much I hate to say, although Detective Conan definitely does.
Also, I just watched the first episode of Captain Earth, and that was really great. It reminded me in some ways of the beginning of Evangelion...then again it seems most Mecha shows have a start like that. I don't foresee it going down the Eva route, but who knows. It was a promising start.
Wow...even Jojo's Bizarre Adventure can tear me up XD. Well I've been flying through Battle Tendency. Last weekend I marathoned Phantom Blood which was 9 episodes in two days. Battle Tendency is 17 episodes, I started on Saturday, and I've already gone through 12 of those episodes.

Aaaaand...hate to triple post XD, but I just finished Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2: Battle Tendency. Good lord was that awesome! This show is just so amazing and crazy.
@GuSilverFlame
Before Stardust Crusaders, have you watched/read any Jojo? Because if you skipped parts 1 and 2 you're missing one heck of a ride. I think that might've actually been the fastest 26 episode series I've ever watched, I completed it in 10 days. Checks MAL Yep, I've never watched a series at this length that quickly. Nice! Now to start Stardust Crusaders...and be forced to wait week after week for more. Oh well, time to start part 3!
