Big Wars - 90's sci-fi anime about a war that breaks out between humans and an alien species a couple hundred years after humans colonize Mars. It's a good one worth a watch, but it's for only for the older anime fans due to some of the content.

Kirby: Right Back at Ya! - Episode 6 tonight. This was a pretty humorous episode (loved all the TV jokes).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Finished up Golden Time. It was alright. As far as romcoms go, it's got one or two amazing moments but it's held up by bad pacing and some strange plot decisions. Bonus points for having a laser guided amnesiac and a highly functioning psychopath as the leads, except it's taken completely seriously. And also for having 2D-kun, easily the greatest bro anyone could wish for.

Will finish Silver Spoon tonight too. The second season took a turn for the AMAZING

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Kill la Kill's ending was wonderful, I loved that show. Sniff

Well, I just asked on omegle about Soul Eater to see what random people thought of it, and I got this -_-

Question to discuss:
Have you heard of Soul Eater? If so, what do you think of it? If not, try to figure out what it is.
Stranger 1: sh*t
Stranger 2: what?
Stranger 1: both ways
Stranger 1: soul eater is a load of sh*t
Stranger 2: how?
Stranger 1: it is manga all manga is sh*t
Stranger 2: hahahah
Stranger 1: it is true
Stranger 2: ikr
Stranger 1: yeah
Stranger 2: yup
Stranger 1 has disconnected

Just...why?

Dream Hunter Rem - An hour long OVA, in the spirit detective genre. The hook in this series is that the evil spirits (or demons) attack people in their dreams (if they die in their dream, they die IRL), and Rem has the ability to dive into other peoples' dreams to help them (There are generally two parts to a fight. She first must defeat the spirit in the dream, then kill it when it escapes into the real world). There are two stories in this OVA, and while the first is pretty much general action stuff, the second takes on a much darker & bloodier tone, so watch out for that. It's pretty good stuff though (there's also a few instances of fanservice, if you're worried about that sort of thing).

Dream Hunter Rem II - Another hour long OVA continuing the adventures of Rem. This one just has one long story instead of two smaller ones, but if you liked the first OVA, you'll like this one too.

Kirby: Right Back at Ya! - Episode 7 tonight! Dyna Blade!!!!!!!! (They actually made Dyna Blade pretty cool here, and man they made her freakin' powerful)

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Silver Spoon's ending was one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. I seriously couldn't stop smiling after it! It seems like there's sort of a sequel hook since so many plot threads are left unexplored, but I wouldn't mind if it just ends there.

Just watched tonight's episode of Space Dandy! I really enjoyed it, it was very cute and also pretty touching, along with some great animation. One my new favorite episodes.

Also, I finally got around to finishing Kill la Kill today. An awesome ending, but I won't spoil anything. Sad to see it go, it's definitely one of the most memorable anime I've watched considering how absurd it gets at times, I'm usually left confused or shocked afterwards.

Toonami Saturday night!

Space Dandy - Missed it.

Bleach - Missed it.

Naruto Shippuden - Things are finally getting to get going, though nothing amazing yet. Hopefully next week will change that.

One Piece - Man, this was a sad episode! I almost found myself tearing up, lol.

Blue Exorcist - The theme of this episode was totally unexpected, and it was probably (and by probably, I mean definitely) the best episode so far.

Black Lagoon - So yeah, this show is going to be a fun time. A bit adult (okay, a lot adult), but fun.

Also, they reviewed the new Strider tonight - 9/10.

Well, time to hop onto YouTube & find the next InuYasha.

So a little late here, but did anyone else watch Pupa for the unintentional comedy? Good lord...

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Well, I'm up to episode 10 in Space Dandy. Only three left and I'll finish the season. I loved episode 9 (I believe that was 9) where Dandy and Meow wind up on the planet Plantea where the only creatures are plants and many are sentient. The artwork, design, and atmosphere of the place was incredibly beautiful.

I'm also up to episode 11 in Magi, finished Kill la Kill on Friday, I haven't started the Heaven's Arena Arc of HxH, haven't started the arc of One Piece, and I'm up to episode 10 in the adorably hilarious short comedy series Tonari no Seki-kun.

Finished Afro Samurai: Ressurection, the ending was funny because it shows a cycle of events, and I wonder if it will continue forever or not. Anyway it was pretty cool.

(sorry for the double post)

So I'm watching episode 17 of Kill la Kill and I start thinking it was going for a Killer Klowns from Outer Space reference. I'm probably reaaaally reaching far with that one but the cacoons and Ragyo being dressed like a clown-HOLY PLOT TWIST BATMAN!!! o.o holy crud I wasn't expecting this! This is getting good!

I was actually entirely expecting it, but I was tricked into thinking it wouldn't happen.

Well, since a week ago it's been a year since I started watching Fullmetal Alchemist. Despite having watched 2 anime before that back in 2011, that show was what really got me into anime. And what got me to watch FMA was joining this board after I hadstarted to have slightly renewed interest in anime (specifically Death Note) earlier in the month. Thanks to some people I knew IRL talking about it, and ya'll saying it was good, I started FMA. And that show was what got me hooked on anime. So in a way you could say I've been a big anime fan for about a year now. Pretty cool

(And I still haven't watched even close to all the anime I've planned to -_- )

If you're interested, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (the newer series) effectively reboots the first anime and follows the manga more closely. FMA and Brotherhood both have their merits, so I recommend watching both.

My favorite way to watch them now is the first 25 episodes of the original series, because it covers that arc of the manga more thoroughly, and then switching up and starting Brotherhood at episode 11.

I have planned to watch Brotherhood at some point. For a long time I kind of was denying myself that it was any good out of stubbornness, but it didn't take me long to realize that all the praise had to mean something, and as I've been buying the manga, I really would like to see the more faithful adaptation. It's not high on my list at the moment since I've seen the first series only a bit shorter than a year ago and there's a ton of anime I still want to watch, but I will get around to it at some point.

On a side note, even though I'm watching and loving HxH 2011 (even though I've stopped before diving into Heaven's Arena for Magi) I really love the HxH 1999 openings:

That said, the 2011 openings are still very good.

well arguably opening, because the 2011 one has used literally one song ;p

I actually watched the original 1999 series dubbed a while ago (a couple years before the 2011 series started), it was slightly different and started off better and had a dub that I first didn't like but really got into after a while. Nothing you need to really watch though. It was really good, though they didn't dub Greed Island as far as I know.

That sounds a lot like how I got into anime, too...
