I've heard good things as well, but apparently the anime ends at a cop out. The mangaka is really talented and is known for using side characters really well though. I'd recommend 20th Century Boys by him - that was a solid month of mindblowing for me

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

The few episodes I've seen of the Monster anime were pretty faithful to the manga, but I don't know if it ends as well. The manga is stellar, it's one of the best things I've ever read.

Mushi-Shi season 2 next month!

I don't know about the Anime, but the Manga is great. One of the best I've read.

Durarara
Mushishi
Jojo's Bizarre Adventures part 3 Stardust Cruzaders(but now with good quality the old animation was really bad even though it's considered the best part of the series and was awesome in the manga)

And I still haven't seen the first season of any of those.

Anyways, I'm loving the heck out of HxH, only 4 eps left before I finish the first arc.

@ELI-ASH I would too, the over arcing story of season one was pretty good and the action scenes got me really riled up and excited. Even though I'm not too fond of all of the characters, I would still recommend the first season to anyone interested in the genre.

I am an avid monster hunter player that started quite recently on Ultimate, (Blue Rath Armor currently) the gameplay just keeps me coming back for more!

Has anyone watched Magical Warfare yet? What's the series about and is it a worthwhile series?

I quite literally just finished the Hunter Exam Arc of HxH a few minutes ago...that was just perfect. I started it back on Thursday or Friday I think, and I just blew through it. It really sucked me in. These last few episodes were especially good. When Illumi confronted Killua, that scene had me on the verge of tears, it was so emotional!

And then the ending had the perfect amount of foreshadowing, set up for the next arc, and some world building. I just...I love this show.

Finished up the newest chapter of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi earlier today!

The ranks of Yomi have confronted the Shinpaku Alliance! The main bulk of the SA urges Kenichi & Miu to move on however, as they distract Yomi.

Yomi & the SA, and Yami's masters & Ryozanpaku's masters face off, while Kenichi & Miu sneak into Yami's base.

However, Yomi's leader is waiting for the duo at the base, but he's helping them sneak in!? What does this mean?

Just got off of YouTube, and as usual, I watched some anime while I was there.

Zone of the Enders: 2167 IDOLO - This was a pretty good mech film (based on the game series), and it was a lot newer than most of the stuff I see on YouTube, which was a surprise. The story went in a completely unpredictable direction there towards the end.

Tekkaman Blade - Episodes 3 & 4 tonight. 3 was a slow one, and not too interesting (though there was a bit of humorous engrish, when the base was under an "Emagency", lol). 4 was a better one, not as good as episodes 1 & 2 good, but good nonetheless.

I heard the ending is rushed, is it better in the manga?

Back from YouTube!

New Cutey Honey - I watched the first two episodes of this because I swear I heard the name before, just can't remember where (maybe Imagine-Nation?). Pretty decent transforming hero type show, so if you're into that sort of thing it might be worth a look. As a warning, it was extremely heavy on the fanservice, though. Didn't seem like it distracted from the quality of show, it's just a hero show that just so happens to have a lot of it...

Tekkaman Blade - Watched episodes 5, 6, & 7 tonight. These three were all pretty good. Up there with episodes 1 & 2, IMO. Can't wait to see who the next villain will be.

So I saw the teasers on funimation's channel for Attack on Titan's Dub, and I'm happy with all the VA's I've heard thus far, except Jean's. He sounds kind of bizarre, but then again, it's one scene, so I won't base my real opinion off of that.

I don't know, I'm rather pleased with the main character's voices. Especially Levi's and Sasha's.

Just got off of YouTube!

New Cutey Honey - Episodes 3 & 4 tonight. It continues to be a fun, though not revolutionary, tranforming hero show. the 4th episode was probably the best yet, since they had their first big climactic fight. (just a warning, the fanservice is still going strong)

Tekkaman Blade - Episodes 8 & 9 tonight. Episode 8 was pretty standard stuff as far as this show is concerned, but episode 9 was quite a surprise. There was actually some backstory given to one of the characters, and it had a bittersweet ending.

Oh man, I remember back in my first year of high school my languages teacher thought it would be funny to screen the live action Cutie Honey to my class. Awkwardness and puerile laughter ensued. Does it have anything to offer to the transforming hero genre besides the fanservice? All I remember from it was that it was a lot like Sentai.

Firstly, to clarify, I'm watching 90's OVA series (not the original 70's TV anime. In fact, this is my first exposure to the series, so I had no idea it has a live action film).

Secondly, I'm not very experienced with the genre, so I'm still not sure exactly how good or bad it may be, in comparison. Comparing to the few series I have seen that are similar:

Ronin Warriors - Off the top of my head I want to say this is better than NCH, but it's been so long since I've seen it, I don't know how much of that is nostalgia speaking. Furthermore, RW is team focused, rather than centering around a single hero, so I'm not sure if it's a fair comparison in the first place.

Casshern Sins - I'm liking NCH way more. The action in CS is superior (though it being newer certainly helps, so that's not necessarily a knock against NCH), but other than that, I found the rest of CS to be a brown, depressing bore.

Tekkaman Blade - Another series I'm currently watching, but I will say I'm liking NCH more. That's not to say TB is bad, in fact I am enjoying it as well, but it does appear to be a bit older, and it's a TV series rather than an OVA series (meaning it had a noticeably lower budget). Those things don't mean the show is bad of course, but it does mean they have to recycle action scenes regularly, thus most (though not all) episodes just have them coming into contact with the same insect type enemies (that said, the writers usually do a decent enough job of coming up with different scenarios why they'd be fighting them). Of course, the animation isn't quite as sharp either (especially when they're not fighting).

Hope that could be of some help.
