Toonami Saturday night!

DBZ Kai - Missed first half. Looks like our heroes will have to join forces with Vegeta to survive a fearsome new foe in the form of the Ginyu Force! Speaking of which, they made one of the most epic entrances in all of anime!

Kill la Kill - Ryuko manages to unlock the full power of Senketsu to battle Yui Harime, while Satsuki turns on Ragyo in an attempt to save humanity. Things don't go to well for her however, as Ragyo easily bests her and steals Junketsu (and is able to unlock it's true power to boot). Things look even more grim, as the core life fiber makes it's move.

Sword Art Online II - Kirito & Sinon further discuss Death Gun, and correctly speculate on how he kills his victims in the real world. With a plan set up, they begin to make their move.

InuYasha: The Final Act: SERIES END SPOILERS!!! InuYasha continues to fight towards Kagome, and after his words give her strength, they are able to meet once again. After a reunion kiss, with InuYasha by her side, Kagome wishes the jewel out of existence. After a 3 year time skip, it's been revealed that the two have been locked away in their own respective time eras (with her role in the past apparently concluded). On the day of her high school graduation, Kagome visits the well one last time. It's finally started to dawn on her that she may have to move on, but she just can't imagine living a life without InuYasha. In typical fairy tale fashion, her love for him opens up the well one last time, allowing her to go back and marry him. It's also revealed that Miroku & Sango have started a family during those years (3 kids), Rin is readjusting to life with humans (until she's old enough to decide whether or not to rejoin Sesshomaru's group), Kohaku has taken over the role of a demon slayer, and Koga & Ayame have married (that last one is anime only, as Koga was never seen again in the manga after he ran off).

Naruto Shippuden - Naruto begins to transform as well when his powers begin to resonate with Sora's (and Naruto's fox totally sounds like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget, lol). Naruto is able to stop his transformation, but what about Sora? It appears Naruto's voice just may be reaching him.

One Piece - Nami & co. are running away from a watery grave, while Zoro and co. are (unknowingly) running towards it. Robin begins to break down as the Buster Call brings it's devastation. Meanwhile, Luffy & Lucci continue their fight, and with a sharp increase in animation quality, things get pretty exciting! Looks like Luffy may have hit a K.O. punch, but we'll have to wait until next week to find out.

Also, they re-aired the promo for the InuYasha: TFA finale (but only during a commercial break before it aired), and they also had an all new promo for Hatchin & Matchiko, which begins next week.

Can I ask you something. I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but KLK premiered in February right? If so, doesn't that mean it's been re-ran for 2 or 3 times already? Also, I'm surprised Hatchin and Matchiko is airing on the block. Doesn't seem like an anime Toonami would air.

As for me, I've been watching Doraemon films, which was something that I forgot to include on my backlog a few days ago. I've got about 7 or 6 left. There's a lot more, but I can't find them online.

KlK is still on it's first run. Since it's a weekly block, that's only about 4 episodes a month, and the latest one was episode 18.

Love Live! is amazing. You should try and watch the first three episodes at least. That'll give you a general idea of how the series is going to be like. It gets even better in the second season.

Well, with our internet working properly again, and the E3 conferences over with, I can start using my tablet to watch anime again!

I'm now a few weeks behind, but I watched Kyokai no Rinne episode 6 tonight!

This week the gang had to deal with some mischievous cat spirits that had trapped some neighborhood kids in the shrine they escaped from. This week it was Tsubasa who saved the day, though he wasn't very pleased with having to do things Rinne's way. Of course, there were lots of cat jokes this episode, and we may have gotten our first glimpse of the series villain?

I've been on a roll lately. In the past couple of weeks I've finished the first seasons of The Comic Artist and His Assistants, Orenchi no Furo Jijo, and Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend. Also started watching My love STORY!!! , Food Wars: Shoukogeki no Soma , and I Don't Understand What My Husband is Saying: 2nd Thread on simulcast. I'm currently getting caught up on Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches so I can simulcast that as well.

All of them come HIGHLY recommended by me, especially Food Wars which is easily my favorite of the season. Maybe even of the year.

Oh sweet! Thanks for the info. I promised a friend I'd check out some anime on Netflix he recommended but I just got too many things that take priority on the queue hehe.

@Sergio151 : I second that recommendation for Love Live. I didn't like K-ON either but LL really gives that sense of following an underdog group from it's formation to the big leagues. It didn't quite hit me until the Season 2 finale just how emotionally attached I got and there was waterworks. Plus there's a lot more music.

Saying it's success is huge is almost an understatement. The show has started a fashion trend, it's characters get used for real life promotional campaigns, the app game is so massively popular it's inspired other national idol groups to follow with their own "me too" versions, the 2nd compilation album was a WW top seller, and first week DVD sales of the second season's first volume set a new all time record. So it's no real surprise the movie did so well. The LL fever in Japan is just insane.

I watched the first episode of Digimon Adventures for the first time over 10 years. It's aged better than I expected, so maybe I'll be able to get through it once I find something new to watch with it and Servant X Service.

Will you cry at the twist ending in the third Madoka Magica movie?

While at this point I've watched the original story about 5 or 6 times, between the original series and the two film remakes, I've actually never seen Rebellion. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for it.

Watched episode 7 of Kyokai no Rinne!

The most villainous character thus far shows up (though still has his fair share of comedy relief), and is planning on taking the soul of a living human down to the underworld (well, that's not the word they used, but I don't know if it's against the rules to use it here, if you're referencing it as a place, and not as foul language), and is trying to lure Rinne down with him. First episode to end in a cliff-hanger. Also, no Tsubasa this episode.

Also read the new chapter of Bleach!

As Bazz-B & Halschwalth begin fighting, it went into a flashback about how the two met & became friends as Quincy youth (back then Bazz-B was the stronger one, though by their positions, it seems as if Halschwalth is the stronger one now). Six months after they met, their homes were destroyed by a man with strange powers (even by Quincy standards) named Ywach. They decided to train to become strong Quincies, earn Ywach's trust, and when the time is right, kill him...

Meanwhile (still in flashback), Ywach reveals plans to invade Soul Society, and how he's going to create a fighting force known as the Stern Ritter to do it. Yep, looks like this is going to be a lengthy flashback detailing the past of the Stern Ritter.

You know, I was reading a review of Kyokai no Rinne on ANN (of episode 7, in particular), and it summed up the series pretty well.

Pretty much, it states that it feels as if Takahashi has decided to completely disregard whatever trends are popular in anime these days, to create a new series that is deliberately her specific brand of 90's manga in it's approach to everything from character archtypes to it's humor (it's pretty much recycled Ranma 1/2 in a new skin for a new generation).

They go on to say that the approach gives the show a old fashioned vibe, that's unlike any other anime airing right now, or in any recent time, and while some may find it "out of date", they actually find it quite refreshing.

This is exactly how I feel about the show, but I couldn't quite put it as well as this.

Suppose an update on stuff I watched this season, as it's almost over.

Fate/Stay night: Final episode next week, but all of the plot threads wrapped up now. Just epilogue to go, I believe. Ufotable did great work with the whole series, but I can't help but feel that the UBW route tends to toss aside too many supporting characters just to advance Shirou's character arc. It works great in conjunction with the other two VN routes, but on its own, it definitely feels unfinished. Hopefully the film(s) adaptations of the Heaven's Feel route complete it.

Nisekoi: Nothing Happens: The Season.

DanMachi: Waited until the penultimate episode to get the obligatory bath scene out of the way. Show can't really seem to decide what it wants to do. One episode left and there's still a pile of plot threads hanging as the plot wanders aimlessly. Bell continues to get random power-ups, this time some Daredevil-esque heightened senses.

Oregairu: Show really has no right being as interesting as it is. Well-written characters, I suppose.

And probably cancelling my CR subscription until the fall season. Just read that Boke dake ga Inai Machi is getting an anime adaptation early next year. Loved the manga, will really look forward to that.

The first two Madoka movies just retell the series, right? I can just jump into the third? I still need to see it.

Yup. Only major difference is that the first film is 2h10m and covers the first 8 episodes, while the second film is 1h50m and covers the final 4, so the build-up to Sayaka's turn into a witch is more briskly paced, and then the climax of Walpurgis Night and Madoka's wish is expanded. Both contain a couple of extra scenes and a couple of dropped scenes, but if you've already seen the TV series, you can just jump right into the 3rd movie.

Toonami Saturday night!

DBZ Kai - Gohan & Krillin begin their fight against Guldo. Luckily, Vegeta gets them out of a tight spot, and Recoome is next up.

Kill la Kill - Oh wow, so this wasn't the climax. Oh great, now they're all part of "Nudist Beach". Ragyo shows a new level of disturbing as she feels up her own daughter, though somehow, that's still less cringeworthy than the leader of "Nudist Beach" with all the glowing he has going on... Anyhow, the life-fiber army is bearing down on our resistance, and while it looks like Ryuko is back up to bat, she's sworn off using Senketsu. Meanwhile, it looks like Satsuki has a plan of her own, as usual.

Machiko & Hatchin - Well, it's already gotten me hooked, I'll give it that. Man, Hana's foster family is a bunch of class A A-holes (I actually jumped up in excitement when Hana finally stood up for herself and beat the crud out of those brats). I guess they'd need to be top of the line jerks though, so you'll root for Hana's criminal mother. Let's see where this show goes from here.

Sword Art Online II - Kirito & Sinon put their plan into action! Sinon manages to take out the third party to get him out of the way (so he isn't potentially killed by another partner of Death Gun), and also manages to take out Death Gun's rifle (at the cost of her own). Now it's down to an up close & personal bout between Kirito & Death Gun, who manages to completely own Kirito with his own sword skills (he used the game's weapon creation mode to build the best sword this game would support, meaning he outclasses Kirito in both skill and weaponry). How will our hero get out of this one?

Naruto Shippuden - Asuna manages to take out this (filler) arc's "big bad", while Naruto tries talking some sense into the transformed Sora. Luckily he makes it through, and though the fake fox tries to escape, it fizzles out. Sora leaves to travel the world once things are all said and done, and with a last minute scene of Akatsuki (if that's how you spell it) agents, it looks like we may be once again headed for canon material.

One Piece - We get a look back at Lucci's disturbing past, and that, along with some of the other actions taken by the Admirals currently present, illustrate just how much of a dictatorship that the World Government really is. Meanwhile, Luffy imitates the national debt, ballooning out of control to absolutely crush Lucci. Though, it doesn't look like things are going exactly his way at the moment, as Lucci still seems to be able to out manoeuvre him at every turn.

Also, they had the new lineup montage thing.
