Well...I wanna hope that's a troll post or something. But not everyone can hold the same opinion of something, still, you should at least respect those with differing perspectives. The comment seems like a bait post or something, so I'll just try to ignore it for now. 0.-
Pretty much all those point could be debated, but I doubt it'll be worth the effort, unless you're genuine and want to have a more civilized discussion. If not, well then, there's the door.
Seriously though, all this shonen sh*t isn't real anime or manga. No, this crap is just a commercialized product. Look at our prime suspect, One Piece. A kiddie show, with a massive kiddie franchise around it. Look at all the movies, games, toys, cds, literally tons of merchandise polluting all of Japan. One Piece and its shonen jump ilk aren't designed to be good stories or anything, the whole magazine is just a massive advertisement. Look kiddies at what Ruffy can do! See that new power-up kids? That new move? Yeah, you want the new Ruffy toy now don't you! Yeah! Come on buy! BUY! That's all shonen jump is. Not to mention the anime is a joke, with crap quality animation, padded to all heck. And as I said in my last post, all the characters are uninspired, one-dimensional cut-outs. Ruffy? The hotheaded, never say die impossibly optimistic shonen hero. Zoro? The bad@ss stoic who lives to fight. Nami? The chick with the big boobs who does stuff so the camera can pan on her massive bust. Usopp? The scaredy-cat comic relief who's antics get so old so fast. Get the trend? It's all so bland and boring, not to mention repetitive, and just a huge merchandise commercial. How can anyone take it seriously, or even remotely enjoy it? Same old tired plot, same old tired characters, not progressing much at all. When are you gonna make Ruffy pirate king Oda? I mean its been like 20 years damn. This show/manga is just made to suck in the kiddies' (and somehow all of Japan too) money and continue on forever. Like all shonen sh*t, except this one just somehow got super successful. (Probably Nami, she's actually kind of sexy in design, I'll give Oda that. Doesn't make up for her flat character, but her figure is anything but flat) Well, I guess there's really no helping some "adults" who just can't get out of their childhood. Probably why you all are on a place like Nintendolife anyway. You all must love One Piece because your mindset is the same as the millions of screaming asian kids who read this crap every week. Immature, childish, never grew up. Want real manga? Read some seinen, like Monster, or Berserk or something. Those are some REAL series. Or if you want, keep playing with your licensed One Piece rattles in your Ruffy crib. Toots.
Yeah, One Piece isn't my favorite anime, but it's still a very fun time, if nothing else. That poster is definitely just trolling. (Heck, my bro doesn't like OP at all, and even he isn't nearly that vehement towards it...)

Finished reading ZKC 395. Aww, how cute. Minamoto is still trying to repress his true feelings for Kaoru, but it seems he's starting to reach his breaking point. Also, just saw the raws of ZKC 396 today. Hopefully is translated in English by tomorrow or Saturday. Plus I need to catch up on Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (WN) as well.
@Broskipants
I wonder how sad an existence it must be to consistently put down others because they like something you don't.
Well, hope you and your childish rantings find a nice place where you don't have to be so angry at everyone. Miles away from this thread.

I am familiar with the fact that both shows got localized to appeal to an American audience. I think what I was trying to say was how come those animes ended their run too soon.
Shin-chan is actually on-going to this day in Japan. But that's because it's massively popular, which is the only way to continue a series. Even series like Futurama and Family Guy got cancelled over here, so it takes a lot to keep a series going on for a significant amount of time.
I thought Sgt. Frog had a decent run? Tbh, most anime are 12-26 episodes and this was at least double that so it did pretty well.
But dub-wise, I think it's audience and expectations. I can't think of a single comedy anime that did half as well as Naruto or the like over here. And Sgt Frog, I'm not sure about, but Shin-chan didn't continue because there wasn't enough demand for it. I think especially nowadays, there's no reason to try to sell anime comedy beyond a pretty niche audience for the market, because action anime has essentially replaced the sad decline of action cartoons. Considering how comedy anime are dubbed to appeal to western audience, it turns it into something closer to the comedy cartoons we already have an abundance of. It's the same reason most Call of Duty knockoffs fail, because we already have way too many shooters and if you're gonna try the same thing, no one cares, they're gonna play Call of Duty instead. (not that I'm saying Sgt. Frog is half as bad as some of those games...)
Tbh though, even though I know not a lot about the series, if any comedy anime was gonna be big over here, it was gonna be Sgt Frog.
Is there anywhere that has all of the english subbed episodes of Detective Conan legally available to stream? Hulu only has some of the first 20 episodes and is even missing episodes 12-17.

I don't think so, unfortunately. However, with Crunchyroll getting the most recent episodes, I think there could be hope for them to eventually get all episodes after Funi's license. Of course, Crunchyroll will probably take a loooong time because of licensing and stuff, but I don't doubt that they'll try. When they put OP on Crunchy a bit over a year ago it was just the most recent episodes, and even though it took them a long time, as of last month (I believe) they have all the episodes, even the Toriko specials and stuff cut from Funi's license. Hopefully the same situation could wind up happening to Detective Conan.

IIRC, it was actually kinda big when it was on Funimation channel, as well as during the early days of streaming. I think the reason people lost interest was because they got tied up trying to release the third season for some reason, and people eventually forgot about it...

Yep, Friday it was. Damn it, Shiho! How much more of a sadist can you possible get? I love it, must have more.
...To be fair the One Piece guy is almost completely right.
Except for the "shonen s***" thing. Not all shonen are One Piece. Case in point? JoJo, Hunter x Hunter.
Berserk and Monster don't hold a candle to those. Unless we're talking art...and even then Araki's art is still amazing.
One Piece is amazing and to criticise it because it has a lot of kids among its fan base and makes a lot of money off merchandise without having any constructive criticism to say about the actual Manga/Anime itself is childish.
For an anime of its length, it has amazing continuity, now that Naruto has ended, there is no other Anime that is this epic in scale.
Plus to say it has no story is wrong, the story is amazing and has another 9 years to run.
Some good things about the story are lots of people and concepts are introduced that we have yet to see, e.g. Blackbeards crew in a real fight, Nico Robin and her tracking down of the hidden weapons, Luffy Vs Kaidou, Luffy Vs Big Mama, Luffy Vs Shanks, more about Zoro' hidden powers, the list goes on and on.....

Berserk no. It's pretty much just a generic shounen with a ton of grimdark thrown in so edgy 15 year olds will think it's cool.
But Monster is a legit masterpiece.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Berserk was great for the first couple of Volumes, then got crazy after Volume 4...
But yes, Monster is fantastic.
@Jab187 - I kinda hope your math is a bit off. I thought we had only 7 years left, at least of the Manga...I mean, more One Piece is always welcome, but I'd love to see it end before I turn 30, you know?

But he did give constructive criticism ("), it was simply lost in "EUGH IT'S A SERIES FOR BABIES!!!1!" (Which is kinda true...? Not for babies, obviously, but it is aimed mostly at kids).
I like OP but GOD is the anime terrible: QUALITY! animation (Toei...), terrible art (Toei...), pacing issues (Toei...then again, the manga also has them).

butitsaseinen Generic fantasy story, more like. Notice I mentioned the art and... ... ...
I find it difficult to regard Berserk as seinen due to it being very adolescent in how it portrays its characters and themes. In some ways, it's even less mature than One Piece. I know Berserk has a lot of blood, but I'm in my mid-20s now, blood stopped being shocking and cool to me 10 years ago. If an anime takes itself seriously and wants me to take it seriously too, it needs actual substance.
This is going off the anime. I haven't read the manga.

Honestly, IMO, the Anime adapted most of the good parts from the Manga, at least as far as I read (I think I stopped around 3 volumes after the anime ended...I don't remember when that was now...). While it didn't go as insane as Claymore, it did take a weird turn and I found it much more difficult to take it seriously.
