The presentation was (mostly) terrible however, when we got a look at the likes of 'A Way Out', 'Star Wars Battlefront II' and a short teaser of 'Anthem', I thought they individually looked great and were very different from one another too. 'A Way Out' was a genuine surprise that nobody knew about, which is a rarity these days.
It is an agreeably underwhelming conference if you only own a Nintendo platform(s) though. With the exception of FIFA, nothing else that was announced is coming to the Switch, and for a number of reasons too.
I felt EA just wanted to get to Battlefront 2. They knew it was the big event, and felt as though everything else was contained because they wanted to get to it. They even said at the start there would half an hour of Battlefront at the end. Aside from the usual talk with the games, everything they showcased except for A Way Out felt very small. Need For Speed Payback would probably have had an even bigger showcase if I'm remembering the last time they showed a game in ther series right.
Then again, maybe they just don't have much to announce at this point.
@19Robb92 You haven't seen a lot of conferences in that case; Watch Konami 2010
I thought EA was alright, way better than last year. I'm not into sports games, so half of the show didn't interest me, but it's cool to see they're expending all their sports franchises and adding in story modes. Need for Speed looked alright. A Way Out (?), that co-op game is an interesting concept. Battlefront II looks great! And there's free DLC (please don't botch this one EA).
Looking forward to Anthem tonight. I wonder if BioWare can redeem themselves...
I'm feeling good about EA now.All I wanted was a FIFA I can enjoy without feeling like it's miles behind the game my mates are playing.From the off screen gameplay I've seen and all the features that are in there,it looks like they've delivered.They certainly can't be accused of being lazy with this version anyway.If this is marketed right and not put out to die like their Wii U releases then it should be a huge hit for EA and will surely shift consoles.
@OorWullie Well, they barely mentioned the Switch version, so it's off to a great start. Sony has a marketing deal for FIFA, so I doubt we're going to see a lot of non-PS4 marketing for the game. On top of that, the story mode is marketed as a big thing, and the Switch version doesn't have that, so it won't get mentioned whenever they talk about the story mode.
I really can't understand Square Enix, E3 is around the corner and they release a random trailer for Kingdom Hearts III? Plus, that tease for more info at D23....
@Octane I didn't know Sony had the marketing rights for it,I always thought EA were in bed with Microsoft with their sports games.Hopefully they can find a way to do something with it,would be silly to go to all that effort and release it without any fanfare.

Been watching for years.
At least Konami had some comedic value which kept things interesting. EA's conference was just a bore to watch and was very poorly executed. A lot worse than previous presentations, even from EA. But that's just my opinion of course.
I agree, EA's presentation was awful. The entire thing could have been condensed into a fifteen to twenty minute pre-recorded video, and it would have been somewhat decent. They need to stop bringing Youtubers and other nonsense like that and just show the games. And having a 30 min multiplayer match with cringy commentary DURING the presentation was a mistake. Hopefully things improve starting this evening.
@Octane Microsoft had a special deal with EA which became stronger on the XB1 with EA Access but I'm guessing it's expired and we now have a CoD type situation.
Isn't Bethesda conference tonight? Wasn't they listed as developers for switch on reveal... so we can expect something tonight right for switch owners?
@Peek-a-boo
Regardless of when it came out, it's one of the most popular games in the world. Skyrim on Switch is pure hype!!! I neglected my X1 play through just so I could play it on Switch. Some games are just timeless, and Skyrim is one of them. It was brought into the modern era not that long ago with the remastered versions, and seeing it run on a handheld now is just as exciting as Metroid fans seeing a remastered Prime on handheld, but with 25x as many people who care.
That said, I wouldn't expect anything else from Bethesda, pending sales of Skyrim. If it does well, they may port over another carefully chosen classic in a year or two. But hey, it's more than we've gotten from them before.
