Topic: 3DS or iPod Touch

i am having a searious problem deciding. My current iPod Classic has a problem; whenever i plug it into iTunes to do somethng when i unplug it i have to completely reboot it. and i've wanted a touch forever.
On the other hand the 3DS has so many more features than my ORIGINAL DS. but the problem with this is that there aren't that many games i can see in the future so far that i would want. yeah, i wouldn't get iether on 'till September but still the only ones that interest me are Ocarina of Time and Resident Evil(Both of them) and i am no longer allowed to play M rated games(i nkow odd but reality). sooo HELP!

EDIT: oh, and my sister is getting a 3DS soo

I have an iPod touch. It is great for listen to music, surf the web, and handling e-mail while to go. It can also be pretty good to play short games when waiting in a line or something like it. However, if you want to play games, I would rather carry a DS, not to mention a 3DS instead. The lack of buttons and the weak battery really hurts the iPod touch as a main gaming platform.

Do you love music or games more? Personally I'd just get an old ipod (they all do the same thing) and get a 3DS as well if you can afford to. If not just get a 3DS.You do know it has 3D Graphics don't ya????!!!!

but i played the 3ds in a Best Buy and the 3d effect was.....odd i'll say i wasn't quite sure how it was supposed to work wether it was coming at me or if i was supposed to look into it like a window into another place

If you want an iPod Touch for music, games, internet, and videos, then the 3DS would be the better choice; it already has all of those, but it playes games that are unlimited times better than what you will find on the iPod Touch. The 3DS can multitask, too (EXAMPLE: You are in the middle of playing OoT, and you get stuck. Just push the home button, and you will be able to search the web for a game-guide mid-game). Scared of high prices for games? Don't be, you can still get some of the cheap shovelware that the iPod Touch has via 3DSware.
On a side note, "maybe in like 3 or 4 years i'd jailbreak the Touch but Definetly not now" what, are you too young to do bad things? No matter how old you are, what's wrong is wrong. Being a teen/adult doesn't make it any less bad.

I think you're confusing piracy with jailbreaking...

maybe it is a little biased but i Love Nintendo too.
and what i meant but 3 or 4 years is that i don't want Apple shutting down my iPod when i just got it and i am not quite even sure i'll do it.
i don't exactly know what jailbreaking your iPod entails soo...
but the biggest thing is my music, yes i know the 3DS can play music but i am not even sure how to put it on there (yes, Internet)
but also partly because i stuff my audiobooks on my iPod PLUS my music and that's a lot of stuff some where around a little over 6,000 songs(the iPod is counting audiobook tracks as well i really don't have That much music)
and also Facetime and an app that allows you to text to phones and other Touches, I shouldn't metion Netflix because the 3DS does that too and i could transfer it to my Wii.
i don't know i am really torn between them, but the second biggest problem is the 3DS lineup(yes, there will be lots more full-flegged games than the iPod, and i have seen a list of eventual games but i don't want to buy my 3DS, have maybe one game and wait 2 years for the really good games. ubt in the 3DS' field in about 5 months i'll be 17 so i could(hopefully but my mom says she's not sure yeah she's overprotective like my dad) play M rated games again, 'cause i REALLY want those to Resident Evil games, ESPECIALLY Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

Jailbreaking essentially means you "unlock" the iPod/iPhone so it can run unauthorized software (stuff that hasn't been approved by Apple). Doing it however voids your warranty. That being said you can just reformat it, and it would be fine.

Also, about the music on the 3DS. It's actually really simple. The system itself comes with a 2 GB SD card which you can remove. It also accepts high capacity cards (4GB and above). Pretty much you can just move your songs onto an SD card and play it from the 3DS's music application (use mp3).

There's actually a pretty good list of games coming out this year not to mention announced for next year.

This list however only goes up to September so there's definitely going to be more. It also seems to be lacking the games that come out this year but without a specific release date like Devil Survivor Overclocked (Summer 2011).

I assumed that they were closely related, considering that whenever friends told me they were jailbreaking their iPods, it usually involved them pirating games.

Also, I think your parents are just doing a good job parenting. My parents wanted me to avoid M-rated games too, but now that I'm allowed to play them, I don't. I always find myself playing things like Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and Mario. There isn't much that appeals to me in M-rated FPSs, and sex jokes from Dragon Age just seem a bit immature/unfunny. I don't like gore, over-the-top cursing, and sluty characters at all. So I really prefer sticking with the three franchises I mentioned before hand.

@ TheSolarKnight i'm gonna need a MUCH larger card than that, but I'd say my descision would be made right now if i knew that i could play Resident Evil

Sounds like you need an iTouch my friend. The 3DS has a 3000 song limit btw.
