Topic: The ads on this website is unbearable

I was trying to read the article on top 50 SNES games of all time and it was physically impossible to click to the next page because ads pop up. Seriously, please fix this problem, thanks.

Nintendolife does take complaints about ads seriously. Every time someone posts a complaint in the Ideas for the site thread, antdickens always takes them seriously and addresses annoying ads that need to be reigned in.

@getridofyourads Right because the site doesn't have bills to pay too. If you want to get rid of the adds, support the site as @WoomyNNYes pointed out.

This is me trying to read the article on my mobile phone. Even if I turn on portrait mode or landscape mode, I can't click on the next page because of these ridiculous ads.

@getridofyourads get uBlockOrigin if you can, or some other ad blocker, they work like a treat.

I hate to say this but I'm not paying for an NL subscription, sorry.

@getridofyourads I think that’s more of a bug, other then that I think the ads are pretty standard and I have seen worse. Because I think I have had this issue once before, did make me consider using a blocker.

@EaglyPurahFan how am I a troll? I'm trying to be very respectful and giving constructive feedback. I bet if the ads were better managed more people would come to this website.

I always use the site on mobile and essentially rarely even noticed the ads. They seem pretty subtle by the standards of most sites like this.

Only thing that bothers me about ads on this site is that on mobile occasionally some of the heavier ads will pull audio focus. So when I'm scrolling through while I'm on my commute the music I'm listening to will drop in volume

Not something I tend to see on other sites so obviously there are some fairly obnoxious ads being circulated in the ad spaces here. Higher revenue ads I'm sure but, they do degrade the site

So, maybe you like to work for free but I doubt the staff here does.

I'd like to support this site but my view of it has been tainted to where I don't really want to anymore. I just use this site now for news on Directs and to message my only friends, once I get Discord I'll go rot there and leave you and your paid friends alone.

I like the ads, I’ve learnt a lot from them like this one.

@getridofyourads @Snatcher I love how someone actually has an issue with ads affecting the usability of features on their mobile browser and then everyone starts trolling the user calling them a troll. I've had times where the ads cause issues that don't allow me to use basic features on this site. Basic functionality should never be paywalled on a site like this even if it's only due to various ad related bugs and the fact that I see some of the NL and PS staff members and former staff members in this thread also joining in on the bullying is rather disheartening to say the least.

@LilyGoMEOW bullying is a strong word, more like messing around.

Not a single staff member has replied here either. Past or present.

I actually hope they do view the thread though. Since judging from that video, it seems that particular ad is glitched.
