Haven't played most of them, but I absolutely loved Revenant Wings. Somehow the worst-looking sprites in history gave more...character...to the Final Fantasy XII characters than the high-end PS2 graphics did. There was something very addictive about spamming the magic attacks in real time, and the RTS controls and pathfinding were very smooth overall.

I also played FF3, but for some reason I can never go more than half a numbered Final Fantasy without getting bored with it. Should try the tactics game, since I usually enjoy SRPGs.

III, IV and Reverent Wings (on account of the characters) are the only two Final Fantasy games.

The others are games that use the Final Fantasy name to try and drum up additional sales.

Also, Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon on the DS. I reckon that would be my fav.
