It's still relatively new, so I think we should give it some time to improve.

Do people ever stop whining?

The map apps are cool.

But its not a game. who in the world is going to have fun with maps, clocks and calculators. If nintendo wants my money ,they better make better games.

I didn't realise that all there is to life is games.

Personally I find traveling exciting and enjoying, and public transport in foreign countries is difficult. Now, making travel to foreign cities easier is good, and improves the enjoyment of the trip. For $15 (for both packs 1 & 2), my $2000+ trips suddenly became easier. And the ability to make notes or take photos to remember those trips is a neat bonus.

I'll take that kind of functionality over a cheap game that holds my attention for a few minutes at a time any day.

@anfeli..... Big difference in being pissed off with a company that I shelled out $200 for to get a few games worth buyin and just whining. There is a very valid point for people to be pissed with DSiWare.

How can you be pissed off at a company because you failed to do market research before buying a product?

The onus is on the consumer to make sure what they are buying is what they want. Not the vendor.

The vendor's job is to provide a product. Nintendo has. It might be useless to you. You don't have to buy it. Women's lingerie is useless to me (well, to wear), so I don't buy it (for me).

What isn't useless to me is the DSiWare service. In fact, it's surperb.

How does it suck there is some awesome games like the Art Style games, Asphalt, and even M vs D. There is going to be even more in the years to come.

@WaltzElf... cause Ive been a longtime fan of Nintendo and love the DS and thought that the DSiWare would bring some 2D Nintendo goodness back in 8 bit style. Most everyone expected it but its not happening and Im not the only one suprised there on that one. AND I also travel a bit myself. You should look into a Vacation Package to drop your cost Disney offers some awesome packages. You will have you hotels paid for for life all over the world if you really vacation like you say. If your taking pictures with your DSi and using those maps well I cant justify that one. Im using a way higher quality camera for my vacations and GPS enabled maps are almost necessary in anyplace you dont know if you dont want to stay lost. I take my DSs with me for flight and down time to play games.

I'm a long time fan of Tim Burton, but I'm not going to buy one of his movies if it doesn't live up to my expectations (EG, Sweeny Todd). Again, it's not Nintendo's fault if you bought something, and didn't get what you expected.

I don't need a GPS enabled map - a simple paper map suffices for me, and a map that removes clutter to just provide the transport routes is convenient for me. As I said, the camera and memo function is a neat extra. I have a proper camera and notebook for "proper" occasions.

Since I'm not American, and an adult, vacation packages such as those offered by Disney, Intrepid and Contiki either aren't available to me, or don't appeal to me. My partner and I like getting off the plane, and putting ourselves into the middle of the city/ country. Once again, a simple transport map is sufficient for those needs.

That you question the usefulness of an application for another person is telling. It's telling me that you believe you are the sole authority on the DSi and its worth. You're not.

I beg to differ, and for 2 reasons.

1. We've got the Art Style, Mighty Flip Champs, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again, and a bunch of positively recieved Gameloft games. Also, Pop+ Solo, Flipnote Studio, Relfection, Flipper, and a lot more cool stuff are on the way.

2. WW didn't start getting great until later on. World Of goo and Tetris Party (Two of WW's best games IMO) didn't come out until 5 months after WW started!

Give DSiWare a chance, and trust me; you will not be dissapointed.

Sorry guys, I deleted my comments, Im a bit frustrated at th Current lackluster of DSiWare. Yeah there is some good stuff there as youve got listed Charlie The Unicorn, but they are small games and dont last very long wich is great cause that is what I do want in them. Just looking foreward to getting something new out of the service. Im definately not bailing out on it cause it will pick up soon. Hopefully we will hear something from Wayforward and their new games soon as well.

Being new is no excuse.
They learned their lessons with the Wii, and have almost a year since the Japan DSi release to make DSiWare good, but they half ass it like all their online stuff and in the end, they don't care.

The DSi is selling well to people too stupid to realize the camera sucks, the music player is limited, and it doesn't really do anything different.

Nintendo again is hoping for 3rd parties to carry DSiWare like WiiWare, but with all the apparent restrictions, I can understand why most 3rd parties aren't bothering and sticking with WiiWare.

flipnote only has one week left... NINTENDO OF AMERICA cannot do there job right, flipnote should of been released the same week as dsi came out like NOJ. Sidenote: NINTENDO OF JAPAN ROCKS!!!!!!LOL

Most 3rd parties who made WiiWare games are STILL making Wiiware games. Plus, most of them are indie and/or smaller developers who can't really afford to make full-scale games

FATEM

While I agree DSiware does have some garbage there are still really brilliant games. In fact DSiware is good enough that I only have 6 DS games at the moment and all of them are DSiWare. Not one single physical game card.Just wait a couple of months and it's going to be high-class titles every week.

Im not selling my DSi ( I did my Wii and not really complaining about it) cause hopefully the slow trickle of games will be worth it in the end. I do like the larger screen alot but Im not crazy about the "click" feel to the buttons instead of the smooth push the DS has.
