Cool! Always good to know some new rideable animals.

One thing I've found that's fun to do on the start screen is to glue a propellor to a person (any person) and force them to run into unpleasant things such as land mines (or pits of lava, or bassists with landmines glued to their heads). Large explosions and funny sound effects ensue.

I tried halfling but it doesn't work for me. Perhaps it is because I switched to the European version because I found out there is also Dutch on it which is my native language.

I love summoning a blob to dispatch my foes. Fire is able to quickly dispatch a blob.
Two enemies I've found that are invincible are a vampire and a blob. They can be killed, but only in there own special way. Or with a bazooka. That annihalates almost everything.

A "vampire hunter" will also kill a vampire for you.

I got Scriblenauts on the Euro release date and I can share these ones I found out myself...

Scylla - From greek mythology
Flameberge [sic] - only a flaming sword (burns things, scares certain animals [that includes steeds] and naturally acts as a weapon
Bomber (3rd choice) - a highly manoeuvrable stealth bomber
Depth Charge
Nail Gun

And some ideas for the dexterous/extremely patient: scribble a bicycle (flip it onto its back) attach glue to the crossbar and then a nuke to the glue. Equip a pair of wings or a jetpack, hop onto the bike (the clipping might ruin it) and pilot yourself (you'll only make a few meters) towards your target. Crash.
Attach an array of "autocannon"s to a tank, with glue for an automatic barrage.
Or simply attach an Auto Cannon to a wheelbarrow

i downloaded the rom for a quick play and i was blown away
so i orderrd it and i get it on sunday for my b-day:D

When the starite is in some difficult place I attach a bag of money to it and then summon a thief.

I've got some more suggestions - and these ones haven't been mentioned.

Ymir - A Norse giant.
Kting Voar - A snake-eating cow cryptid from Vietnam/Cambodia
Laser Diode - a better looking laser pistol.
Very Pistol - A stronger pistol (can take down death 5 times quicker in two shots)
Magic - drop it onto an item to temporarily freeze it.
Black Magic - drop it onto a being to transform it into a Skeleton Warrior
Electric Magic
Caltrop - a weak weapon that hurts when you stand on it
Murse - A man's Purse.
And Aqua Regia or Chloroform, which send beings to sleep (even death himself), and when they awaken, they are pacified and under your control - i.e, you can ride a giant enemy crab. From what I can read on Wikipedia, Aqua Regia sole use is for dissolving metals - I don't know why Scribblenauts decided it had the properties of chloroform...

on the title screen if you type in AIR VENT and put the on top of each other it blows maxwell off screen
and restarts the level, i have had some good fun with air vents (does that sound wrong?)

Cthulhu is in this game as well
