Mario & Luigi RPG 4, though it can't possibly live up to Inside Story, methinks. Super Mario Sunshine 2 for the 3DS would quite probably be my favorite game ever. I also agree with SSB DS and Pokemon TCG DS (the original was my favorite GBC game).
I guess it doesn't really count since the first one was never on DS, but how about a Plants vs. Zombies sequel? PopCap has already graced the DS with fresh versions of Peggle, Bookworm, and Bejeweled, so Plants vs. Zombies (my favorite game of theirs) seems like a no-bra– urk! Like another good choice. There's only one real problem I can see: how the heck do you improve Plants vs. Zombies?
Oooh, maybe this: Minerals vs. Vampires, the most farcical strategy-RPG ever created! Nah, a bit too hardcore. PopCap seems to be doing pretty well in their comfort zone right now. Still though, there's potential there. If someone can make a tower defense game as funny as Plants vs. Zombies, just think what they could do with the role-playing genre! More importantly, think what they could do to the role-playing genre.

ugh, let me try to explain my reasoning for why Super Smash Bros. DS would be terrible
the DS has the power of the N64. what we would get from smash bros DS would simply be a clone of the original, but with different characters
fighting games focus on multiplayer. me and my friens always go to each others houses for 4 player brawls, but on the DS, thats not as easy. first of all, both people need to own the game.
and second, the connection is wireless, so there will be inevitable lag.
a D-pad doesn't work the same as an analog stick. in brawl, to do a smash attack, simply press the analog stick hard in one one direction. D-pads cant tell how had you press the button.
there have been problems in brawl with the screen zooming out too much and you cant see the character. well that would only get about 10 times worse on the tiny DS screen

@Briunj ok first off, have you ever heard of a Japanase game called "Smash Ultimate Allstars"? It is practically the same concept as SSB! It's also considered one of the BEST games on the ds as well! Here is a video of it
Let me explain a few things for those who may not understand. You can easily swith between characters (like tag team) unless you only have one character. When you see a character start to turn grey that means they have low health. You have two special attacks (one is "X" the other is "up+X"). "B" and "Y" are your weak/strong moves, if you press them along with any direction will do a different attack. Finnally, it has over 300 characters I think, and the reason it isn't available in the U.S.? It has to do with copy right mumbo jumbo. I own the game, and I absolutely love it!
I also wondered why there is no super smash bros ds. tone the scope down a little and it could work. although it is right that the ds lacks a stick. so maybe as launch game for 3ds? also would love a sequel to princess peach. it was one of the first game on ds I beat. and i liked every minute of it.

I'd like to see another World Ends With You, it was such a unique RPG that could actually only been done on the DS. I loved the style and music in the game, and the story was very addicting.
We need SSB DS. Now. Also, I don't think a new Pokemon TCG game would be bad either. They would need to start putting codes on the cards and let you use them to get the cards in the game, like on the Yu-Gi-Oh! games. That would be mandatory.
EDIT: @Xorn What if they made a connector that let you plug a GC stick into the headphone slot? I wonder if that would work.
@HolyMackerel: if it wasn't for the fact that it's a dungeon crawler, i probably would've given it a try -- Devil Survivor had a pretty good story, and Strange Journey sounded interesting, at least. i know malnin's playing it now, but he's not really around much.
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
@theblackdragon Devil Survivor was great, but it's quite different from the rest of the series. Strange Journey is more than just a dungeon crawler. It's a proper old-fashioned CRPG with an interesting battle system, a demon negotation system and an excellent storyline. If old-school RPGs aren't your taste, I highly recommend getting Persona 3: FES or Persona 4 on the PS2, since they're spinoffs of SMT which are less dark and more accessible.
If malnin's playing it now, that must be the reason why he's not around. Mine's in the mail.
