I downloaded it tonight and I gotta say without fail that it's the most fun of anything Sonic-related that I may have possibly played. Ever. The game was fast, frenzied, but very much under control at all times due to the fact that said controls are pretty much perfect. Sonic 4 only disappointed me really in the sluggish, weird controls but this game DEFINITELY got those right. Big time.

What did you guys think of the demo? Have you downloaded it?

When I close my eyes, I see pixilated blood.

Where would the demo be located?

I felt as if the game played itself.

I'll stick with the wii version.

Awesome game very fast and the level was huge, definitely getting the DS version, not sure about the wii version just yet, prefer it if it was strictly 2D too.

Nintendo Power gave it a 9 on Wii and a 7.5 on DS. I'll download it later.

I felt the same way....

After playing Sonic 3 on the DS, every other 2D Sonic game looks too simple and slow.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

I nearly did a backflip when I saw the demo.

I thought it was pretty fun and fast, the level was actually pretty big, exploration-wise. With the wisp power-up, it allow for more routes and secret areas. Its pretty much like soccer686 said, its Sonic Rush with more power-ups. I really like the more precise homing attack, instead of being the R button its now simply pressing the jump button twice. The music, graphics, and sounds were pretty good too.

But there were still some little things that kinda bugged me. The trick system was taken out, I kept finding myself pressing the B and R buttons when going off springs or grinding on rails. Also, Sonic's running animation looked kinda awkward. Lastly, the hang-glider portion seemed to slow the pace of the game a tiny bit, but it was over quickly. These are little things, but its only a demo.

All in all, this game is looking to be yet another great Sonic DS game. Even though I'm looking foward to the Wii version more, I'll still gladly pick this up.

EDIT: Played the demo a couple more times, disagreed with some of the things I said.

I tried the demo too and it reminded me why I've never really liked Sonic games. It was often too fast to see what was going on, I had no idea where I was supposed to go, but somehow I ended up finishing the level without any problems because the game nearly played itself. Not my type of platformer, but I'm sure others will enjoy it.

The demo was very fun, many pathways, the Red Wisp was cool because you could obliterate everything on the screen with a full charge, some interesting ideas like the catapult your ignited with the Wisp, it felt like the took the 2D segments of Unleashed and placed it into the Rush engine. you could even Stomp and Slide!

I'm pretty sure I think I'm funnier than I really am.

I played the demo, and it's basically Sonic Rush 3, with more powerups. I'm looking forward to the Wii Sonic Colors more. This DS version is still good though.

I have never been a huge fans of sonic games, but for some reason, ever if the game plyed itself, even if I really don't know what I were doing, I really enjoy it (uh, strange) Yes very strange, I still don't know wich version will be better for me, DS or Wii, the Wii version looks truly beatifull, but after playing these demo maybe I end getting the DS version, who knows?

I love the demo too but I will probably get the Wii version if I end up buying the game. Why? Because it comes with an awesome blue classic controller in Australia!

It feels way too much like Sonic Rush. The Wii version looks great though.

Yes the game was very good, but I think I also will preffer the Wii version, because you can have more control over your character, but the demo was awesome!!! Still a great game.

Really though, this is why 3D sonic games have the advantage regarding gameplay, because you CAN control yourself at high speeds by pressing left and right to guide sonic as he runs, as well as jumping at the same time. It's pretty fun, but for 2D Sonic it's basically holding forward and watching the game play itself during these moments.

Actually, the classic Genesis (and Sega CD) games (and Sonic 4 most of the time) don't have that problem. They include quite a bit of tricky platforming (including at higher speeds) to go along with the high speed thrills. That's why a lot of people prefer the classic 2D games over the Rush games.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

@Odnetin, have you already tried the demo? Maybe you find it fun, it is still different, anyways if you still hate it, you can look at the Wii version, it is more different
