What do you think how long Nintendo will release games on DSiWare since the 3DS was released last weekend? In Europe we get this week just one DSiWare game already.
Well at the moment we will have to wait till May till we get a 3DS store. But I hope that all the current DSiWare games are alsodownloadable there because I never had a DSi but always envy some of the games that were there.

It'll be down to developers more than it will Nintendo, and for the developers, they'll keep putting DSiWare out as long as customers are buying it. No company would ever decide to suddenly block of a legitimate revenue stream, just because there's a newer additional stream. 2 streams are better than 1.

I really think it's a missed opportunity of Nintendo not to release the DSiWare shop. I think they are going to integrate them in one story with the 3DSiWare and the VC for the 3DS. But I would love to have access to the DSiWare store, right now.

That's a good key point right there. DSiware will be available to 3DS users AND DSi users so you can make a game available to a much larger amount of people than if you went to the eShop. For that reason I suspect the eShop will be mostly high-ish budget stuff at first.

i say we will have games for at least 6 months.. who knows if the 3ds will even stand on its own... system could be a major flop or could be very hard to make games for ect ect ect.....
I'm guessing it'll be done by the end of this year. There are only a few high-profile games (Flipper 2, Ikachan, Jelly Kingdoms) that I want, but other than that, nothing.
There are still several DSiWare titles that I still want to buy, but I've been saving up for a 3DS. I also wanted to see how well the games transferred before buying any more just in case I decided not to put them on the 3DS. I hope the games don't go away any time soon. Right now I have no plans for selling my DSi.

probably longer than you think. it does not exactly count as being virtual consul but it could go side by side to 3DSWARE when that comes out around may or late summer. its kinda like exspecting to see gamecube games on the succesor to the wii's shop channel
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
Nintendo has announced that they and other developers will continue to support DSiWare forever because it is coming soon to 3DS and it's cheaper to make DSiWare than 3DSWare.
