DSiWare has been available for over 6 months now in both Europe and North America.

Of the 58 titles that have currently been reviewed here on NL (for both EU and NA), the scores are as following:

Score = # of games with that score
10/10 = 0
9/10 = 6
8/10 = 16
7/10 = 9
6/10 = 11
5/10 = 5
4/10 = 7
3/10 = 3
2/10 = 1
1/10 = 0

So in total of the best to the worst, averaging up these scores shows an overall rating of about 6.5 (6.465) out of 10.

Has DSiWare lived up to the expectations that you had? Does NintendoLife's scoring for DSiWare match your overall approval/disapproval?

I know Im considered to be the DSi Hater on here but I actually think some of the scores for some of the games are a little higher than they should be. There are some great titles but of the 58 available there are very few that are Great in my opinion. Mighty Flip Champs, Pictobits, Mario vs DK are the highlights of the service. 3 out of 58 isn't very good coming from the #1 company in the World. Shantae will be stellar and Reflections looks promising as well.... a Nintendo VC would really throw this service into Greatness but I don't think Nintendo even cares honestly.

DSiWare..... Im giving it a overall score of 4 our of 10

I'm pleased. Of course I'd like to see some more original games, but I've had a blast with Dragon Quest Wars, Pinball Pulse, Mario vs. DK, Precipice, Pictobits, Pop +, and even Art Academy... (Let's not forget Flipnote Studio either, even though it's free). I was actually let down quite a bit by Mighty Flip Champs!, but other than that everything I've purchased has met my expectations at the very least.

For the future I'm pretty interested in Shantae and Sujin Number Battles (NA release). Hopefully we're in for some surprises, but at this point the service has been pretty solid, if unspectacular.

There are good games for DSiWare but that doesn't make it a good system.

With that said, I think it's a horribly system.
By itself it might not be so bad, but you HAVE to compare it to the App store and PSN store, and DSiWare sucks on so many levels.
I'm basing this on terms of quality, price and quantity and I think DSiWare fails at all these when compared to the PSN and especially the App store.

Again, there ARE good DSiWare games, but it's a far cry from WiiWare or even what Nintendo themselves said it would be.

MetalMario

I wouldn't know, but there's only about 3 games I would get for it.

I am absolutely loving DSiWare at the moment! Everything so far (just about) good stuff and it only gets better! My score: 8.5

I agree with Ballistik. There has only been one game I downloaded and didn't like and that was a little bit of Planet Puzzle League. My only problem is how long I've been waiting for Mighty Flip Champs and seeing as that's only a petty issue I'd have to give it 8.5/10. It's brilliant but there's still room for improvement.

I have been very happy with DSiware so far and since buying the DSi on launch day UK I have only bought one retail DS game and the money I would normally spend on games I have been getting points instead.
Once you take the prices into account that 200 points is £1.40, 500 points £3.50 & 800 points is £5.60 I think they are pretty much deserving of most of the scores.
Compared to the lineup games of PSP minis which stand between £2.50 and £3.99 for what seems pretty P!$$poor iphone ports I think DSiware seems the better choice.
Granted it would be nice to get full retail downloads at a reasonable price downloaded to the DSi just as you can download retail PSP games but unlike the PSPGo the DSi have a cart slot and less storage. But hey, should... no when a storage solution occurs im sure Nintendo will print more money by releasing full retail games with full prices to be downloaded to your DSi.

DSiware suits me perfectly as I like to play games on the way to work and dont always get time to play larger games and the bite sized games are perfect. Currently im enjoying Combat of Dragons - Bronze Edition which seems great value at just over a fiver, pretty much the cover price of a magazine.

I have to say, I'm grossly disappointed in the service. It has SO much potential, but it's just not living up to it. 1 or 2 releases a week? How many sudoku games do we have? There are some promising games out there (shantae, castle of magic, popcap games, etc.), but we always get stuck with junk. I don't have stockholm syndrome, and I'm not going to learn to love being abused and just buy junk because it's all that is there. If there was an actual release schedule then I wouldn't have to get disappointed every monday morning. I think that would help a LOT.

I really like the service. I like the nice variety of games that are on there as well as the bite-sized nature of them. And I LIKE having apps for my DSi. I get a good amount of use out of my clock and calculator; and the real gem is the Free Paint mode of Art Academy, which is reminiscent of ArtRage. I wish Nintendo would hurry up and release myNotebook..... What is taking so long? And I'm really looking forward to Electroplankton...(I hope they include an option to record what you produce......). I wish there was a video service, though. The lovely speakers make it a great portable video viewing platform.

Basically, I see a lot of potential in such a young service. The only real complaint that I have with it is that I wish there was a way to transfer your profile of games easier, maybe the same way you transport your WiFi settings between machines using the DS Download. Nintendo needs to get on the ball on that.
I also wish there were demos for the DSiWare. To date, I do not think that there are any demos for those....

I'd rate DSiware overall 8/10. The actual games I have downloaded have provided me with great gaming entertainment except Nemrem. Also, 3 or 4 of the games are amongst the very best video games on the system, retail OR ware.

It started out lacking in quality games, but its shaping up with Pop+ solo, Mighty Flip Champs, MvsDK:MMA, Flipnote Studio, Boxlife, Pictobits, Art Academy, precipice, Asphalt 4, Puzzle League, Pinball Pulse, and the newly released The Royal Bluff. Plus there are a lot of decent DSiware, and a few bad ones. Believe it or not, I say 9/10, ya, I know, shocker, its just my opinion though.

I give it a 8.3257723562033 It's just a little better than 8.3257723562034

On a more serious note (because scores are a silly way to assess the quality of something) DSiWare offers me plenty - every second week I have a new game to get myself hooked on (at the moment it's the Viking Defend the Castle game)

One new game I really enjoy playing every 2 weeks is plenty enough for me.

zemulii

I don't think it's amazing... but on a personal level, I've really enjoyed what I've got out of it and I'm glad I spent a little extra on a DSi (sold my DS Lite about two years ago). I always wanted to give Brain Age a go, and I think it's the PERFECT fit for DSiWare. I'm far more likely to boot it up for a few minutes if I don't have to switch cartridges (and I do - every day). Apart from that I'm really only interested in simple (but quality) time "wasters". Of which there are plenty. Pictobits is brilliant! So perfect fit for me. I can understand why others would be disappointed though.

I'd say the aspect of DSi I'm least impressed with is the browser. But I was never intending to use that too much anyway...

I would give the dsiware an 8.2 because it gives me a reason to look foward to mondays. Also there is plenty of good games on the dsi shop like Mario vs Donkey Kong and Mighty Flip Champs.

The games worth waiting for are the best kinds.

Just a thought I just had.....
How many of you guys that are very happy with DSiWare own othe systems... especially other handheld systems such as PSP, iPhone, iTouch?

Reason I ask is that if DSiWare is you main source of DLC Games I can understand the service being acceptable. I own multiple systems and I really enjoy indy gaming, as well as portable gaming wich is a reason I picked up DSi. The problem I have is that being a multiple system owner, DSiWare isn't competive with the iPhone or PSP. Just the PSP store alone is putting the DSi Store to shame. When I spend my money on DLC Games it always ends up goin to Sony because the games are of higher quality and better priced. I added $20 USD to my DSi when I got it and haven't added any since.... and Ive prob spent at leat $75 USD on DSC PSP Games in the last 6 months.
