So, I don't have the Nintendo Points to buy it, but I want to buy it soon. How is the game?
Is it good, pros/cons? How many block's does this game take?
it takes up 37 blocks surprisingly its decent but short
Is the hit detection as bad as nl said in their preview? Do the cubes obstruct your view? How much variety is there in the levels and enemies? How good are the boss fights? How hard is it?
Um, I just want to know how it compares to Geometry Wars: Galaxies, cuz' if it's good and different enough from Galaxies I will get it, but otherwise I'll save those point for something else.
Is the hit detection as bad as nl said in their preview? nope its pretty spot on
Do the cubes obstruct your view? how could they? they go to your ship in an instant
How much variety is there in the levels and enemies? just traveling down the same tube and each level throws the same enemies but puts new ones as you progress
How good are the boss fights? pretty dull, just the same boss but with each time you face it it has different attacks
How hard is it? easy is pretty dawn easy extreme is where you want to go if you want a challenge depending on what difficulty you pick you get a different ship with their own special weapon
one thing to note is when you pause the game and unpause you have to wait 3 secs
Looking forward to the US release of this. I'm still unsure what exactly to expect though, w/ the impressions I've read. Some say it's too easy, and I've read that the real challenge is not in surviving but in racking up a high score. Hopefully this unconventional scheme works out to fun gameplay, because my library desperately needs a good space shmup.
If they've sorted the hit detection issues of the Japanese release then it would be a decent score attack game - I really don't understand what went wrong there, it's pretty appalling.
I'm gonna ask this again as I appear to have been ignored ... Is this game anything like Geometry Wars: Galaxies?
Geometry Wars Galaxies has a lineage back to Robotron 2084,But, if you enjoy the action in Geometry Wars, I think you might enjoy this as well, not because they are alike in gameplay, but because you might have the same taste in games as I do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotron:_2084
In metal torrent you don't build your ship with extras like you do in games like Gradius (Nemesis), R-Type, Star Soldier etc. But there is a strategic element in using the two weapons right ... and there's plenty of things to shoot at and plenty of bullets. The feel of the game is great.
After reading the review the hit-detection issues make sense now (though it's still lame), but I still think this game is crap compared to either G.G. Series Wonder Land or Sora o Kakeru ShÅjyo Shooting which are both less flashy being 2D, but have more interesting levels and artwork as a result.

Just what I was expecting right from when I read your preview. You didn't get how the game worked, people were asking you if you did and some even tried to explain it to you, but you simply insited on teh game not working properly. Not exactly the best thing to do in journalism.
