Less, than 1 hour ago, I picked up my reserved copy of my most anticipated game, Nostalgia! I thought the release date was 10/27, but I don't care, 'cause I got Nostalgia! Very good impressions so far.

It came out on the 23rd in some places. Enjoy!

Plain old gamer :)

It came out the 23rd here, but I didn't think the date was correct. Even if I knew it was correct, I couldn't pick it up 'cause of my b-day party. Gameinformer gave it a plain 8, which I think is a little low.

Yeah, there were a few GameStops that got it yesterday but unfortunately for me none of them are anywhere near my home. I don't know if this game has limited distribution or if the other stores just haven't received their shipment yet. I really hope that I can find a copy of Nostalgia next week.

Stop playing it and tell us more already!

What's it like?

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

It's really fun, a pretty addicting rpg. I've battled a couple of bosses on land and one in the air. The graphics are about the same as ff4 ds, and the music is good. It deserves a shot at handheld game of the year.

Could I ask corbie how long the game is?

Well corbie?
As you can see, I've changed my avatar back to PixelEddie. What's funny is when the gamestop person called, she said "Nostaligia" would be expected on saturday.

Hoopla!!!

Anyways, I'm glad you're enjoying it. It looks good, but I doubt I'd get it. If I subscribe to GameFly, I might rent it, but it certainly wouldn't be high on my list.

I'm just wary of it being called Nostalgia and not being in 2D with little sprites walking around. Depending on how "nostalgic" it is, I might buy it.

Somebody set up us the bomb.

Whoa there, killer. It's good but it's not GOTY good.

EDIT: To answer your question about game lenght, from what I've heard, with all the side quest you easily get 40+ hours.

Lol, when i saw the thread title, i reflexively thought "I HAVE FURY!"

Looking forward to Nostalgia, even though i'm mid-way through 2 or 3 other old-school RPGs right now.

btw for all involved: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/other/nds/windnost/reviews/windn... - felt this review was much more acccurate than Corbie's. Game was pretty sub-par, for all interested would-be purchasers.

Still much love for Corbert, but yeah--review was entirely too sunshine and rainbows--the game's pretty busted.

I got Nostalgia too. I was playing Super Mario 64 the other day and I felt a tear gathering.

Overall, the game is been-there-done-that. That's pretty easy to tell, even from Corbie's review. I haven't played it, so I'm not gonna bash it, but it's pretty obvious that how much you enjoy it depends on how much nostalgia you have for older SNES RPG gameplay and classic RPG conventions. In fact, this game sounds quite a bit like Golden Sun - a game which I resented, but a lot of other people, including Corbie, loved. Just going off the reviews, it doesn't seem like a sub-par game, it just doesn't offer anything new, and will probably fade into obscurity amounts the flood of other DS RPGs, most of which are far more original than this game.

The real issue is that none of the nostalgia is good. The only real feeling I got was a positive affirmation that old RPG conventions were done away with for good reason. Also, the presentation is busted. Corbie seemed to leave out the awfully bland graphics the entire game and the ear-splitting attempt at epic music. As someone who's first RPG was Dragon Warrior 1, it did not bring back any of the good nostalgic feelings that I expected it would. Balance is awful too.
