Topic: Getting my DSiWare back?

I have a Best Buy warenty for my DSi, and my R button isn't working quite right. It is a bit flakey. My question is, will Nintendo replace all the DSiWare I bought if I call them?

Yeah.

you can get it fixed, or replace the button. If you ask for a new dsi, I doubt you'll get all of your dsiware back.

I'd call Nintendo before taking it back to Best Buy. If BB just gives you another DSi, Nintendo won't give you back your DSiWare.

Has your original nintendo warranty expired? Even if you got a best buy warranty, Nintendo would have included one too. I'd call Ninty and ask about that. You can get Nintendo to fix it for free and keep all your DSiWare!

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

You should always give it back to Nintendo, and never to the shop where you bought it from. (Read your DSi's manual about warranty)

Best Buy can't replace it (unless they use their own point cards), if you send it to Nintendo then they'll look at your serial number and change some data on your new DSi.

The R buttons are failing on the DSi? sigh

My L and R buttons started failing on my DS Lite about 18 months in, and required constant maintenance (read: blowing) in order to use reliably after that point. I was hoping that they'd fixed that for the DSi, but this is not encouraging to read. Mine is still fine as of yet, but I really haven't been playing any games that use it intensively.

Just put your games on an SD card. You'll need one eventually even if you don't have one.
The r button on my SP is broken too, so EXTREMELY annoying!

Damn, I just bought a new DSi and my R button is messed up too. I'm glad I found this thread. I'll just send it to Nintendo if it totally craps out on me so I won't lose my DSiWare games.

Wow.... this is NOT good news. Ive barely played my DSi and have had it since day one and now Im kinda worried my R button will fail. Im not playin it all until Shanae get here thats for sure.

I dont mean to mock, but why is it that the first sku is always the best when it comes to quality? My first GBA had no issues ever, and my DSPhat that is my only DS is still in perfect condition, bar the touchscreen that has alot of scratches. But the ones that follow always have trigger issues and what not.

If you have issues, just return it for a newer one, but try to go through Nintendo first. Save your receipt so if you have to you can return it to the store within those first few months.
