Topic: DSi Shop Maintenance

I've been trying to connect for over 3 hours, and it keeps saying it's down for maintenance. Is it normal for it to take this long?

I don't know, but the same thing is happening to me. My guess it is another pointless update.

Googling around, supposedly it's the Wii Shop too, and Europe as well as NA? It doesn't make much sense that they would shut down the shop during peak hours and for this long. Either something is seriously wrong, or there better be some kind of system update or some major improvement to the Shop when it comes back up.

Maybe they are making the 3ds shop right now to try if it works fine

It would be cool if they updated the Wii and DSi shops to allow you to transfer points or gift games between them somehow, not that it seems likely, but it would be the perfect feature for the holiday season.

Demos?

yes that would also push me to buy something for 800 points because i have 500 points on my dsi and nothing to buy and only 300 on my wii and i few games i want

i dont think its for demos, here in europe the maintainence for demos took 2 minutes this is something different

Yea! just found this out (about the Wii one. Dont have Dsi). I hope it's demos. I've been trying to figure out what I want to get. That might help, maybe. I hope the channel doesnt take too long to open again.

I was about to make a topic about this myself. I've been trying to get on the Wii shop all day and it's been out of service. Hopefully it's something worth getting excited about. Demos or something maybe.

Well, I'm now getting an error code instead of the maintenance message for the DSi Shop. I wonder if that means they're almost done, or just that things are seriously screwed up now, lol!

They're both working now, but I don't see anything new.

it`s probably due to the points system. when nintendo release a whole bunch of new numbers, the system needs to be updated to recognize them.
i could be wrong, but it is plausable, because the phone companies do it when new phone numbers are released.

Meh, I don't really get excited about the shops going down anyomore. it hasn't meant something good for at least a year...

You'd think they'd do it at 4am when people are less likely to want to access the Shop though. I think that's when eBay always does their maintenance at least.
