Well, I bought it and its really fun, I'll edit this post and have a pre-review up in a bit. For the rest of you intellegent people who bought the game, what do you think?
EDIT:
I read that somewhere in the forums the game has three levels, which really kinda makes me cringe, I've almost beat the first level (but I keep on dying) and it only took about 15 minutes max, if you exclude the numerous amount of times you will die. Altogether though I've probably spent 45 minutes on it max. So the game is probably around 2 hours long, which I guess is pretty good considering the awsome gameplay and the 500 points price tag. Look at it this way, when you spend $5.00 on a real arcade game your lookin at about 1 1/2 hours of game play tops, so I guess its not that bad.

Almost beat the first level (took about 10 minutes, rushed) Overall, it's a great platformer, reminds me of mega man but with better jumping due to the jetpack.

That cartridge blowing is good fun too

Mascotty

yeah, lovin the pack, one thing I want to say is that if you press a twice really fast, you'll hover, it took me about 10 minutes to figure that out, and don't we all love blowing cartridges XD definately reminds me of the good ole days

Hi! , i have already downloaded the game, I just beat the first level and so far pretty good . I loved the intro , and the old style NES graphics are great .

I would like to see more games like this on DSiWare.

@Armand. Totally agree!

I downloaded Dark Void Zero. I have not beat the first level yet. But I almost did once. lol. That boss is tough. Anyway, I read in the "booklet" that the game will save once you beat a level. Thats cool.

Anyway, really fun game. Not an easy game (even on easy mode). Very old skool. The cartridge blowing at the beginning is awesome. Takes me back.

Glad I downloaded it!

I've got the first level down so far myself, it's a very fun game indeed. The onld school style is awesome and I'd love to see Capcom do more games like this.

It is great becaise its hard even on easy(as said before) and has tons of replay value because of high scores, different difficulty modes, and collectibles and sub missions on each stage. All of that makes up for the fact that there are inly 3 stages.(they are pretty long too, first time through takes about 40 mins each even if youre good, and speedrunning they are still probably 15 mins each)

The game is great fun, but very difficult. I'm not complaining, but dang that first boss!

Also, I can't beleive it myself, but I found a glitch on the first day. If you die the exact moment that you hit the area that transports you to the boss fight, than when you are sent back to the last check point, you will be unable to move or jump. You can still angle and fire your gun though. Also, the screen shakes.

I'd say it's the best game on DSiWare. I'd also say it's nothing amazing. It plays like an unfinished NES game, but since DSiWare expects you to be willing to pay as much for less, they can get away with it here.

If this were an NES game and they released it on VC, I don't think anyone would care as much, but it stands out on DSiWare where games of this sort haven't really made their way onto the service yet.

I think there is a lot of potential for more levels or even, dare I say it, a basic level editor. I like how the levels are structured, forcing you to pick up certain items or drop others at times to create different situations with the same small set of items, enemies, and obstacles. There's potential to do more without adding any actual assets, but they called it quits after three levels for some reason.

I like it enough not to think it was a waste of money and to encourage other DSi owners to get it, but it sadly feels like there should be more to it.

I downloaded thanks to the impressions you guys gave. You guys are the BEST. I completed the first level on easy and enjoyed every minute of it.

@Adam
I guess I'm not far enough in it, but it seems like it would stand with the Mega Mans and Bionic Commandos of the world.

@Brandon
Definitely not Mega Man, I'd say (and I think most would agree). I thought Bionic Commando was one of the worst games on the NES, which is pretty bad, so yea, I think it's got that one beat, haha. It is fun, certainly, and I enjoyed every minute of it, too. But "every minute of it" isn't much. Unlike the Mega Mans of the world, which go for the same asking price, there are only three levels here and far less variety. Sure, the jet pack does make it a different experience, but I don't know if that's enough to put it above games like Mega Man and Contra which are just as fun to play but with many more levels and much more variety.

It's a good game. I just think it makes for a sorry comparison with price values on the Wii's download service.

@Adam- really the only thing it truly lacks is length, so as far as being good as megaman, well if it was longer, imo I deffinately think it would have it beat, the jetpack is awsome, and you have to remember this was an old game that was never released with a few brush ups of course, and capcom even made a big deal about it themselves, and talked about how great a game it was (source: "on the spot" video, gamespot.com)

Well, I didn't know it was only three levels long, damn, whats the dsiware size limit?

I downloaded it after reading several Capcom-Unity things on it. All the Jimmy Fallon mentioning helped. What a hilarious touch.

Man oh man, best DSiWare game, that's for sure. Surprisingly, I can even see myself playing this more than Shantae in the long run. High scores, speed runs, nice long levels (although only three), and more make this a must download for users of the DSiWare service. Shantae looks like a pretty fun game and as much of a classic platformer as its predecessor, but I couldn't help but notice that the first game didn't have much replay value. The thing that makes Dark Void Zero so great, on the other hand, is its classic NES feel.

Back in the day, you could pick up any (granted, good) NES game and play it over and over again without getting tired of it. This is like that.

Rejoice.
