Ha, for a second there, I thought you meant Nintendo Points... Anyway, so long as that record was not obtained with any part of Nintendo Wifi, then your're fine. However, the moment you upload your new DSi to Wifi with your old game, all of your previous Wifi records will be erased, so be forwarned...
I'm working on a game that's coming out soon! Cipher Trailer
Did you mean, "No, you will not lose your points because the game progress is saved to the cart, not to the console?" (Hard to tell as you did not use a comma in your answer, it looks like you are saying, No progress is saved in the cart..." but I think you are meaning "No, (comma) Progress is saved in the game carts.
@MCNH What I can confirm is the DS has no built-in memory, nor the option to save things to it, so all progress is saved to the Game Card. Haven't you ever played one of your friend's games on your DS, or vice-versa? The DSi is no different.
Thanks Odnetnin. In short, no I haven't. I am asking for my 8 year old son who was afraid to play an old game in his new console for fear of losing his progress. I do not DS.
