Topic: Mario and Sonic Olympic Games amiibo

Do you think it might happen when the next game is inevitably announced? I would totally buy the crap out of sonic, tails, knuckles, eggman, and metal sonic amiibos. I don't see why they couldn't just repackage the super mario line again for this game either. There's no need for a bunch of different mario sculpts saturating everything anyway. So what do you think? Would you guys like to see some sonic amiibos? They shouldn't do the whole sonic cast, but one or two waves wouldn't hurt. I know sonic hasn't been doing great lately, bit I'd still like a couple amiibo in honor of the good old days.

Well the Super Mario series Amiibo are supposed to be the first series they Nintendo tries to keep in stock in stores. The Smash Amiibo are a limited run, even though they haven't officially discontinued any. So the Super Mario series Amiibo wouldn't need another "wave"

Also I think they will just use already released Amiibo and not make more for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

That's what I mean. They would probably just repackage the super mario amiibo with mario and sonic logos. Or they would just make a separate sonic series.

I am just confused about repackaging the Super Mario series Amiibo. Their packaging is very generic, it would be almost pointless to change it.

I'm thinking they could either just have us use the same Mario amiibos from the Super Mario series and make a special Sonic the Hedgehog series of amiibos and let us use those, or they could make a series of new figures based on artwork from the game. So like a figure of Mario running a with a baton in his hand, or like Sonic biking, etc.

That seems likely what they will do, if the game they are planning is big and high profile enough that is.

I just want a Waluigi Amiibo.
