I have the old 3ds Xl and I think I may need a new battery. It charges for five seconds then stops. I'm not sure where to find the correct replacement battery since Nintendo has discontinued this console
Nintendo's support page (at nintendo.com) is actually a very good resource to search. So, that's where I looked first. (Nintendo's customer support phone line is actually good too, if needed.)
If you don't have the screwdriver that fit the little screws to remove the plate. I think some precision screwdriver sets have the size that works, because I think I've opened that up before? I have a basic precision screwdriver set from a hardware store. Nintendo specifies which one you need here. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...
#00 cross-head (+) screwdriver will be required to change the battery pack on the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, and Nintendo 2DS. A #0 cross-head (+) screwdriver will be required to change the battery pack on the New Nintendo 3DS XL.
