And that's basically what we're asking of them, except in this case, the stuff we're asking for (not talking about the discount) wouldn't require adding new stuff (none of those NES/GBA games were eShop released anywhere), because that content already exists in a different region.

And yes, I did own it, but I do not feel entitled to a discount because I made the decision to purchase the game. I also sold it for more than $10

Oh God, Rayword, you obviously have no clue on how business works. Companies are likely to cut prices down on products after said product has been on the market for awhile. Most of the time, companies don't give the consumer ANYTHING when a product's price drops, even if you bought the product on launch day. However, Nintendo went out of their way to give us ''free'' games even though they didn't have to. You should be grateful, rather than howling at the wind, but you're not grateful at all. However, Nintendo doesn't give an eff about your whining, therefore it's pointless.
It's the same thing with Cave Story. You bought a version of a game knowing that a new version of said game might come out. Like I said, you have no one to blame but yourself.

lol, I'm not an ambassador, so no, I'm not affected by that. I just pointed it out.
And I realize that nothing much is likely to happen, but people do whine (Capcom and EA) so I feel as if I at least have a right to, regardless of what it does or doesn't accomplish. Plus, perhaps they'll be nice in some way, and they (Nicalis) do listen to customers at times.

@rayword: (a) that makes no sense, and (b) you're the one being condescending as far as i can see. you're not entitled to a discount just because you bought the game in one of its other many incarnations any more than you're entitled to a discount because you may have played the free version back when Pixel first released it to the public — in both cases you're not seeing anything new and yet you're paying for it somehow. however, i'm sure if you chill out for a while they'll probably put it on sale eventually the same as they did with VVVVVV.

That's what it is. 3 sprites adds practically nothing to the experience, but it does add a feeling of uniqueness at the least. And that was already added in Japan, with no new dialogue or anything.

I don't see a single comment which I was directly condescending, compared to Knux who referred to me as "selfish", "unreasonable", and "having a negative personality". But okay then.
And yes, this does add something new when you purchase it. I can't see any reason why anyone would other then to support to the developers, but those people are honestly far and few between.
And honestly, I hope you're right about the whole discount thing, but I'm not too sure about that, as Nintendo has offered a total of 3 discounts/discounts in groups which weren't "benefits"

Nicalis has already had one discounted game on the eShop, i wouldn't be surprised at all to see them discount something else in its time, especially something that's seen so many releases as Cave Story.
Anyway, @Bubbab55, i'm afraid we don't quite know yet, though in the meantime, there are quite a few options available to you if you have a Cave Story fix to fulfill. As soon as we have something concrete date-wise, you can be sure it'll be front page news, though :3
