And it's because it's the same game, with MORE features, for LESS of a price.
And? Nobody forced you to buy the game.
You made the purchase, and nobody should have to compensate you for when/what you bought.

Get special treatment? No way in hell. We Cave Story 3D buyers got screwed over big time, but it was our choice whether we wanted to buy the game or not. You really have nobody to blame but yourself. The thing is we're all going to buy Cave Story + because it's effing Cave Story, and Nicalis is going to milk it for all it's worth. However, this will be the last time I'll buy Cave Story after I buy the 3DSWare version.

Your point is...? No one promised you a download version when you bought the retail version. You are not entitled to a discount or update. You paid for the retail version with the risk of there being a cheaper version later on. Game companies do this all the time. Should consumers get a discount for a super edition of the game they bought the previous year? No. Should they get refunded money when their game gets discounted? No. There is no entitlement. There will be no discount. There will be no exclusive update.

That's what they did with 3DS Ambassadors. They knew the users would feel cheated after a price drop in such a short time span (which is similar to what's here, a re-release with a much lower price tag and more features) so they compensated with free games.
Hell, an update with ALREADY RELEASED CONTENT is too much to ask for?

"They" are a different company. Nicalis did not do that. Nintendo did. Different company, different policies. They didn't have to give us those games. They just felt nice enough to do it.
Also, this game is an update with the new content. What more do you need?
Ambassadors made a purchase full knowing their could be a price drop a month, a year, or even a day after they bought the system.

Do you not understand that this game already includes the new content already released? There would be nothing to add.
And yes, I did own it, but I do not feel entitled to a discount because I made the decision to purchase the game. I also sold it for more than $10
