I've never played the game in any form before (besides for the WiiWare demo), so I'll definately get this. I've held out on the DSiWare version as I don't like the fact DSiWare can't be saved to an SD card, and I was too skeptical of it to buy the retail version, but this sounds just perfect.

I wonder if this is going to be a retail eShop game a la Unchained Blades or if they're actually working on another completely different version. It's sounding like the latter so far, but that's hard to believe since it's so ridiculous that there would be three 3DS-playable versions before there was one on Xbox or Playstation (discounting unauthorized ports).
Ha ha. It's easy enough to get it for free if you want to. For those of us who want the extra content and/or to give Pixel more money (I wonder how rich he is now?), though, there's these versions.
I have only played the free version and its a master piece! I might get this and a WiiU version(if there ever will be one)

Why? This is the 3rd port to 3DS(if you include the DSIware version) It's not even available yet on XBLA and PSN. Not to mention Nightsky seems like a much better choice.

@Retro If you read the link I posted above, it has virtually every special mode ever included in any Cave Story release, so at the very least this should be the definitive version. Whether it has any wholly original content (not sure if "Nemesis Challenge" is in Cave Story+?) remains to be seen.

So I basically wasted $40 on Cave Story 3D? Eff, I feel so stupid.
Thank you for making me feel better about the same thing. I will not pick this one up because I already spent $10 worth on the DSiware one for my DSi. Then I spend $40 to play it in 3D. There no reason for me to invest any more in Cave Story. Hurry up with Cave Story 2.

I wonder if those of us with the DSiWare version could pay a reduced price for a DLC-type addition to the DSiWare version instead of having to buy an upgraded version of a game most of us already own. C'mon Nintendo, you know you can make it happen ...

Assuming the eShop version isn't horribly overpriced (which I'm sure it will be), I'll be buying it right away as I don't want to lose my DSiWare saves by transferring it from my DSi to my 3DS, but otherwise I'll probably just wait for reviews to make sure the extra content is worth it.

Does it come with free AR cards again?
I transferred my copy to my 3DS, so I lost my save file. May pick this version up to rebeat the game if it's priced right.
@Shadow100 They are thinking of eventually taking Cave Story (DSiWARE) off of the eshop for this one. Good News the DSi shop will keep the dsiware version no matter what...
